Weakness: His Sentimentality In a normal world, most of Peeta's biggest weaknesses would be seen as positive personality traits. However, because he is forced into constant life-or-death situations, characteristics like his sentimentality become threats to his safety rather than strengths.
So, in many ways, Peeta isn't naive compared to real-life teenagers, but when examined against more shrewd or practical-minded characters like Katniss and Gale, he can come off as much more idealistic. Peeta often is more hopeful, which can be good but can also be negative.
So in CF we learn that one of, if not Peeta's biggest fear is losing Katniss. In MJ 1 Beetee had those great lines about our brains being hard wired to remember fear, and that it's the most difficult thing to overcome. Hijacking amplifies your fears, and losing Katniss is a huge fear for him.
Katniss has a few major weaknesses, all of which contribute to making her a realistic, well-rounded character. She can't deal with injuries; they make her feel sick. She can be very rash, making snap decisions that don't always work out for her and her allies.

Why was Peeta skinny?
I went on the CGI diet, computer-generated images. They just sucked my face down in post-production. There you have it, folks. With the move of a mouse and a stylus, our Peeta was shrunk down via computer cleanse, not juice cleanse.
You wouldn't have guessed it from the way the film made it appear; however, Peeta's injury was much worse than you thought. It was so bad, the Capitol deemed his leg unsaleable, hacked it off and replaced it with an artificial one. When Caesar asks Peeta how his new leg is working out.
Katniss ultimately chose Peeta because he understood her trauma and she didn't want to lose him, proving her love for him. The debate between Peeta and Gale continues among fans.
Peeta is repeatedly described as charming, generous, kind and likable, and possessing a self-deprecating sense of humour. He first confuses and later inspires Katniss with his determination to maintain his identity while inside the arena and his refusal to become a "piece" in the Capitol's game.

As Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and her allies trudge through the rainforest, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) accidentally hits the electro-magnetic forcefield and dies. Finnick (Sam Claflin) immediately performs CPR and saves Peeta's life.
Gale is jealous of Peeta and the relationship he has with Katniss, and he wants Katniss to decide between them, though he doesn't press Katniss during her recovery in District 13. Gale is an excellent hunter and excels at setting snares and traps.

In the arena, Peeta loves Katniss for the same reasons we love Katniss, multiplied by a lifetime of silent longing. Yet he's really only known her for a month. He's 16 years old and very much caught up in his crush. He loves an image of Katniss, and he's imagined this role for himself as epic lover.
In one particularly memorable scene before the Games occur, Peeta confesses to Katniss that his only hope for the Games is to retain his identity and not to be made into a monster by his circumstances.
Interestingly, Katniss is taller than Peeta only in the film versions of The Hunger Games novels—so it's not that the film is simply staying faithful to the source material. In fact, the books contain subtle text clues that Peeta is the taller of the two.
Katniss's next most significant relationship at the start of the series is her friendship with Gale Hawthorne. Gale is her best friend, and he loves Katniss very much. He wants her to run away with him but Katniss is too loyal to her mother and sister to ever leave.
If Katniss hadn't volunteered, Prim most likely would have been killed and would not have won as her sister did. Prim was an intelligent, compassionate, and courageous individual with excellent medical skills, but she didn't have the combat skills or selective ruthlessness needed to win.
Katniss rarely sings because it reminds her of her father, but she now remembers a morbid song that her father taught her: “The Hanging Tree.” This moment in the story is significant in multiple ways.
In the film, Thresh's odds of winning change from 10–1 to 11–1. Afterward, they increase from 11–1 to 8–1. In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, Katniss states that Cato killed Thresh. However, this is not in-line with the film continuity, as Thresh was killed by the wolf mutts in the first film.
For Peeta to look like he was tortured, many think he went on an extreme diet. But in reality, they used CGI to slim his face and make him look abused and beaten.
