The original Aladdin story, although it is part of the 1001 Arabian Nights, takes place in China and Aladdin is actually Chinese. The Disney version shows the characters are being vaguely Persian, meaning either Irani or Iraqi, and people from that part of the world have complexions from faintly olive...
Ali Baba is a completely different story from Aladdin. And the original is actually Ali Babwa. The story of Ali Babwa is actually a couple shorter stories put together. A poor man, who discovers rhe den of the 40 thieves, and sees their leader open it with the famous "Open Sesame".
In the original story, Aladdin is born to a poor tailor in “the capital of one of China's vast and wealthy kingdoms”. The Chinese setting of the story, however, has in most recent iterations, notably the Disney animated film of 1992, been almost entirely rewritten.

The villain's plan eventually evolves to him staging a forced marriage with the princess, but a clear infatuation with Jasmine is built up throughout the movi. And, by the end of Aladdin, it is responsible for the grossest moment in any Disney film because of it.

Like some villain characters from other franchises, Jafar is attracted to a beautiful girl or woman that is a protagonist. He was attracted to Princess Jasmine, but primarily for her good looking body, and not for Jasmine herself as a person.
The key protagonist of both films is male (Figure 3). Although it may be argued that the newer version tries to put more of a spotlight on Jasmine, Aladdin is the central focus of the movie.
Aladdin's mother ended up being written out of the animated movie and didn't make the live-action cut either. A song relating to Aladdin's mother, "Proud of Your Boy," written by lyricist Howard Ashman before his death, can be heard in Disney's Broadway show.
