Too violent for kids
Reading the books and letting your imagination visualize these stories is different than seeing it depicted in movies. Suzanne Collin's has crafted incredible stories with these books and this movie is very well done, but the brutality of violence is not for young, sensitive viewers.
Katniss ultimately chose Peeta because he understood her trauma and she didn't want to lose him, proving her love for him. The debate between Peeta and Gale continues among fans.
She is thin and not very tall, but is strong for her size from hunting to feed her family in the woods outside of District 12. Katniss is sixteen years old during the 74th Hunger Games, and seventeen years old during the Quarter Quell and the Rebellion.

There are great messages and lessons we can learn from this movie. I think it is appropriate for nearly all teens, but it's an iffy choice for anyone under 13 years old.
But the thing is, Stranger Things is still rated TV-14 and still has its share of language, blood, and horror-esque moments. No matter how many kids are allowed to watch it, it's never going to be called a kid's show.

We see children brutally murdered by other kids, although the camera is shaky, making the gore hard to focus on. We see spearing and stabbings and blood splashing out as well as a brief leg amputation.
The two realized there were only weapons and no food or survival supplies. The Career tributes arrived at the Cornucopia, but were driven off by Katniss and Finnick. Katniss shot Gloss in the calf when he attempted to dive into the water for safety but was too slow.
