Sally (later Sally Skellington) is the deuteragonist in Disney's 1993 stop-motion film The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the protagonist of the 2022 novel Long Live the Pumpkin Queen. She is a rag doll monster from Halloween Town, created by Dr. Finkelstein.
Its main female character, Sally, is a living domestic rag doll, who is practically, and at some points literally, imprisoned in the home of Dr. Finklestein, the mad scientist who created her.
The secondary protagonist, Sally, is a rag doll constructed by Dr. Finkelstein. Her gift is that various limbs can detach from her body and quickly be sewn on, a power she uses to he advantage. Throughout The Nightmare Before Christmas, she can be seen performing ad hoc repairs on herself with a needle and thread.

Jack is 77 inches tall, and Sally is 70 inches tall. They are both animatronic, prompted to move when they detect sound or motion nearby. Jack's mouth, hand and arm move while he makes 12 sounds, including phrases from the movie.

The filmmaker, who came up with the “Nightmare” story, co-produced the film and created character designs, recently told Empire magazine that the stop-motion classic is too important to him to ever create a sequel, prequel, reboot or more. “To me the movie is very important,” Burton said.
