Darth Vader tortured Han with a Scan Grid, Chewbacca with sonic sounds and Leia unknown, so their pain would reverberate through the Force and draw out Luke Skywalker. EV-9D9 and 8D8 enjoyed torturing droids in Jabba's Palace.
In Cloud City, Darth Vader used a scan grid's electrical charges to "analyze" and "gather data" of a different nature by torturing Han Solo. It was also used on Kalist VI by Lieutenant Zuud to torture Jorin Sol.

When imprisoned in carbonite, does the victim inside still age? No when someone is actually frozen and carbonate, they do not age. During the times of the Old Republic, corporations used to use Carbonite freezing to transport their employees before hyperspace lanes have been established.
Fett informed Darth Vader of Solo's destination, and, with the advantage of functioning hyperdrives, an Imperial detachment under the Dark Lord's command arrived at Bespin before Solo's crew. After Vader arrived Cloud City, he informed Calrissian of his plan to use Solo and his friends to capture Skywalker.
In the film, when Cloud City is threatened by the Galactic Empire, Lando reluctantly betrays Han to Darth Vader, but later redeems himself by helping Han's friends escape from the Empire.
As a test, the process was tried on Han Solo, who survived the freezing process through the use of a special device and was eventually freed from his trap.

Although he didn't believe in the Force controlling his destiny, Han came to believe in the cause of galactic freedom, joining Jedi Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa in the fight for the Rebellion.
But this is actually a very sad reason because it actually had the opposite effect, and he deeply regretted his decision to kill his father and it haunted him for the rest of the trilogy. Also, Han was telling him that Snoke was using him, but one of the reasons he killed him was to impress Snoke.
