General Miura (Ip Man) Although General Miura (Hiroyuki Ikeuchi) was the final opponent in the first Ip Man, it's easy to see why his colonel had to threaten the martial arts master. It's almost unfair to call this showdown a fight, as Miura was virtually defenseless against Ip's multitude of strikes.

He didn't have skilled fighters like you see in the movies. He did fight a boxer named Kam Shan Mao, but he beat him with one punch i think. The audience was very disappointed at how short the fight was. Yip man actually spent most of his life teaching martial arts.
The man was Leung Bik and he easily overwhelmed Ip Man. Incredulous at the speed with which he had been countered, Ip requested a second duel and was beaten again, just as soundly. Discouraged by his defeat, Ip left without a word and afterwards was so depressed that he did not dare mention that he knew Kung Fu.
The movie has a high body count but the violence isn't bad. A visitor from another town fights two martial artist seperately teachers and wins against both of them. The characters are a bit bloodied but nothing to bad.
Many Wing Chun schools don't spar because they just don't know how. They were never taught and their sifu never sparred. This includes both famous sifus as well as so called grandmasters and direct students of Yip Man.
