For years now, Ezra and Thrawn have lived in exile on the desolate planet Peridea, the mostly abandoned homeworld of the witches of Dathomir. Ahsoka has made it abundantly clear that Thrawn is busy preparing for his return from exile, but Ezra's whereabouts remained a closely guarded mystery.
Ezra confronted Thrawn and engaged in combat with the Grand Admiral before summoning multiple Purrgil, space whales that can travel through hyperspace. The Purrgil captured the ship Ezra and Thrawn were in and jumped to hyperspace, leaving no track behind.
Under Ezra's orders, the purrgil carried Thrawn and the Chimaera along with Ezra into uncharted space. Following Ezra's departure, the rebels fired up the "Dome"'s thrusters and brought the mobile occupation facility into Lothal's upper atmosphere.
However, Ezra was aided by purrgil, space whales that can naturally travel through hyperspace. In a dramatic moment, the two characters vanish out of the sky to parts unknown. Ahsoka reveals that Hera, effectively Ezra's adopted mother, believed he and Thrawn didn't survive. Yet, fans knew that wasn't the case.
Unfortunately, this means Ezra disappears too. He sacrificed himself to ensure the Lothalian rebellion went off without a hitch — and as we see in Ahsoka, it totally paid off. It may seem weird that nobody on Lothal actually knows what happened to Ezra (though they clearly see him as a hero and even a martyr).
Is Ezra alive in Ahsoka? The short answer is, YES, Ezra Bridger is alive in the events of Star Wars: Ahsoka. After Baylan Skoll, Morgan Elsbeth, and Sabine find Thrawn he puts his next plan into action, finding Ezra by using Sabine.
Defeated, Ahsoka and Sabine must turn back around to Peridea. At the end of the episode, Thrawn's final destination is revealed: Dathomir, the home of the Nightsisters.
Ezra also met Luke's sister Leia in the Rebels season 2 episode “A Princess on Lothal.” Despite these connections, Luke and Ezra have never met. It's possible the two could connect in Ahsoka season 2, or even in Dave Filoni's The Mandalorian-era movie, where the more powerful Jedi will be determined.
In Timothy Zon's The Last Command, Ryuk stabs Thrawn in the back with his own dagger. during the novel's climactic space battle. The reason Ryuk killed Thrawn is that his species, the Naugri, were informed by Princess Leia. that the Empire had been poisoning their world.
With this public revelation that the Noghri were fighting back against the Empire, Rukh saw his chance to strike. He immediately plunged his assassin's knife through the back of Thrawn's command chair, impaling the Grand Admiral through the chest.
She follows the Noti to his village, a settlement of several homes that look like larger versions of their shells. Soon, Sabine discovers her old friend from the Ghost crew, Ezra Bridger, is living among the Noti.
Ahsoka episode 6 reveals the purrgil took Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn on the pathway to Peridea, a planet in a distant galaxy. Ezra evidently succeeded in escaping Thrawn, living in the wilderness among creatures he befriended - likely through his Force powers, which allowed him to bond with them.
In the ensuing campaign to liberate the planet Lothal from the clutches of the Galactic Empire, the Ghost crew's mission ended with Bridger disappearing with Thrawn after the young Jedi used the star whales known as the purrgil to defeat him in the Battle of Lothal, leaving both in exile and presumed dead.
As seen in the finale of the Star Wars Rebels animated series, Jedi Knight Ezra Bridger sent both himself and Grand Admiral Thrawn into exile aboard the Star Destroyer known as The Chimaera, using a pod of star whales he'd bonded with to blindly jump through hyperspace which helped save Ezra's homeworld of Lothal.
Seeing him as nothing more than a child rather than a deadly opponent, Thrawn completely underestimated Ezra, believing him to be a lesser opponent than any of the other ones he had faced.

Sometime after Rebels, he returned to Lothal and soon discovered the ancient tomb of Darth Revan. It was from there he soon discovered he was the descendent of the legendary dark lord that he took on his mask, armor and light saber claiming the mantle himself.
Who is Ezra Bridger? If you've seen Ahsoka, you might be wondering. The hunt for Ezra was a major focus of the show and the Jedi finally made his live-action debut in Ahsoka episode 6. Before that, Ezra was a major player in Star Wars Rebels – which means his backstory can be found in the animated show.
Ezra is one of the most powerful Force users, along with several others, such as the Skywalker family, Rey, and Yoda. He was able to jump long distances when making escapes on the rooftops and sense things before they happened.
More than a moment- 60 seconds..... Ezra quickly one this exchange because his force was a little bit stronger than Ahsoka's. Ahsoka slammed into a wall, but quickly brought herself up. Ahsoka let out a fury of blows from her lightsaber on Ezra, but Ezra blocked the most he could with his lightsaber.
Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa were born the day after the formation of the Galactic Empire and Ezra Bridger's birth, which makes them a day younger than Ezra Bridger.
Now that Sabine had opened herself up to the Force, she was able to sense Anakin Skywalker's presence as he watched over his former Padawan. Sabine being able to sense Anakin but not Ahsoka may be one of the biggest twists in Ahsoka, and could be a big part of both characters' storylines moving forward.
According to the official Star Wars website, Anakin appeared on Peridea in the final moments of Part 8 and watched over his padawan in order to signal to her that everything happened as it was supposed to.
Sabine gazes across the night sky as she senses "shadows in the starlight", prompting Ahsoka to shift her focus and give a knowing nod. As she turns around, we see the Force ghost of Anakin Skywalker smiling and watching over them.
