There are a couple of ways to look at Romuald Boulanger's On the Line, a hokey English-language thriller shot in Paris on a handful of generic-looking sets.
Plot. Los Angeles shock jock Elvis Cooney leaves his wife and daughter to go to work at KLAT during the midnight slot. He is introduced to the new intern, Dylan, on whom he plays a prank at the start of his shift.
Soon a caller named Gary (Paul Spera) makes claims about getting revenge against Elvis by killing his family. Elvis and his staff spring into action and notify the police as the man is in his house and threatening his family.
There is suspense, thrills, action and laughs. Go in not expecting a gold standard but just an entertaining movie and you will enjoy it. All the actors and actresses did a great job to keep the viewer hooked on the edge of the seat until the end.

The filmmakers behind this earnest, heartfelt drama truly want to honor the brave men who do this job, but the movie is packed with cliches and doesn't really grasp the details of hard work. John Travolta dodges downed power lines, but can't escape the clichs.
