In which episode does Boba Fett appear in The Mandalorian?
Boba Fett's presence in the original Disney+ series The Mandalorian was first hinted at in the first-season episode "Chapter 5: The Gunslinger", which ends with a mysterious figure wearing boots and seemingly a cape approaching the body of assassin Fennec Shand on Tatooine.
Although he would retain his Mandalorian armor, Prime Minister Almec of the New Mandalorians disavowed any connection to Fett, claiming that he was simply a bounty hunter who had somehow stolen an artifact from Mandalore's troubled past.
Fans learned in the classic Dark Horse comic series Dark Empire by Tom Veitch and Cam Kennedy that Fett's armor allowed him to survive inside the sarlacc and fight his way out, blowing up the creature in the process (a move very similar to how Mando escaped the belly of the krayt dragon in “The Marshal”).

For decades, fans were outraged by the sudden killing off of Boba Fett. This bounty hunter became an instant fan-favorite for his cool design and sly demeanor in the very few scenes he appeared in throughout the original Star Wars trilogy.
With his customized Mandalorian armor, deadly weaponry, Boba Fett was once regarded as one of the most fearsome and capable bounty hunters in the galaxy. An unaltered genetic clone of his father, bounty hunter Jango Fett, Boba learned combat and martial skills from a young age.
Din Grogu (/ˈɡroʊɡu/), colloquially referred to as Baby Yoda, is a character from the Star Wars Disney+ original television series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. While it had been hinted throughout The Mandalorian season 3 that Din Djarin had adopted Grogu as his son, the finale makes it official. In order for Grogu to move on from his status as a foundling, Din adopts him, and the Armorer gives Grogu the name Din Grogu.
Mandalore the Ultimate is, as his name suggests, the greatest of the Mandalorians. Although his past is steeped in mystery, it is clear that he was a warrior and leader with no equal, who led his people during the Mandalorian Wars against the Jedi, single-handedly turning the tide of the war in their favor.
It's best to watch Boba Fett after The Mandalorian, however, because there's so much crossover between the two series -- and one of the episodes serves as a sort of pilot for The Mandalorian season 3. Grogu, naturally, chooses the armor. He returns to Mando in the “Book of Boba Fett” Season 1 finale, a deeply emotional moment that barely matters at all to Boba Fett but means a great deal to Mando, Grogu and fans of “The Mandalorian.”
How does Boba Fett fit into The Mandalorian timeline?
Boba Fett's series picks up directly after the Mandalorian season 2 finale, with Din Djarin wielding the Darksaber and without Baby Yoda, real name Grogu, by his side. The Mandalorian season 3 picks up after the events of Boba Fett's show.
It was during her career as a bounty hunter that Sintas would meet fellow bounty hunter, Boba Fett. The two fell in love and were married in 16 BBY, when Sintas was eighteen and Fett sixteen years old.
Well, season 1 never followed up on it! But now, months later, we've learned that Temeura Morrison will appear in season 2 as Boba Fett. Morrison was in the prequels, as you may recall, as Jango Fett — and Boba Fett was his clone. So it all makes sense.
Within "Star Wars" media, Grogu is the youngest known member of Yoda's species. He is one of three featured characters from this species. The other is Yaddle, the only other adult and female member of Yoda's species who appeared in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" and "Tales of the Jedi."
Given the rarity of his species in the galaxy, along with the fact that the only other two known members of Grogu's species were both living in the Temple when he was born, it seems likely that Grogu is the child of Yoda and Yaddle and was born to help preserve their rare species.
To be clear, Grogu is not a younger version of Yoda since "The Mandalorian" is set after "Return of the Jedi," in which Yoda (played by Frank Oz) died. They are, however, of the same species — but that species has not yet been revealed. There are more similarities between Yoda and Grogu than just looks.
It was believed that Grogu would eventually become a victim of Kylo Ren's destruction of Luke's Jedi Order. However, The Book of Boba Fett revealed that Grogu chose to follow the Way of the Mandalorian rather than become a Jedi, sparing him from Kylo Ren's wrath.
Jango hated the Jedi for what they took from him. Perhaps he even hated him for having a home to return to after helping the New Mandalorians take his. Whatever the reason, he hated the Jedi enough to become essential to Palpatine's elaborate plans of genocide.
Jango Fett's impressive fighting skills allowed him to hold his ground against Obi-Wan Kenobi on Kamino, but his malfunctioning jetpack and lack of a second blaster pistol proved to be his downfall against Mace Windu.
Outside of the films, the character appears in a number of canonical and non-canonical Star Wars works, such as comic books and video games, which depict him as an antihero rather than a villainous figure, and explore his past as both a bounty hunter and Mandalorian warrior.
