Producer and director M. Night Shyamalan and producers Marc Bienstock and Jason Blum's (2016) latest film, Split, is a horror thriller where the main character Kevin, played by James McAvoy, suffers from dissociative identity disorder (DID) and kidnaps three teenage girls.
Claire, Casey and another friend, Marcia, went to Claire's birthday as they were in the car park ready to leave with Claire's father, he is ambushed by Dennis. The girls are then drugged and kidnapped.
In the third act, the Beast breaks out thanks to Dennis and kills two of the kidnapped girls, but allows protagonist Casey to live due to her own troubled past, recognizing a bond between them.

This happiness came to an end when her uncle molested her while they were on a hunting trip together, leaving Casey traumatized. To make matters worse, Casey's uncle, John was the only legal guardian to take care of her after her father passed away.
So split is about a man called Kevin who has 25 different personalities . One that's a old woman one that's a strict man named Dennis and one that's a 9 year old boy that likes to listen to Kanye West ,ect. So Dennis kidnaps three teenage girls to feed the (SPOILER WARNING) Beast . the 26'th personality.
Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable film series, portrayed by American actor Bruce Willis. Dunn is a former college football prodigy and a security guard who discovers he has superhuman abilities. He is the protagonist in Unbreakable, makes a cameo in Split, and again is a major character in Glass.
The abuse continued for years, as John became Casey's legal guardian after her father passed away. It's abundantly clear the nature of Casey's long-term abuse evolved into more physical domestic violence, as The Beast soon notices that Casey is covered in scars and bruises.
At the end of "Split," we find that the character with 24 split personalities played by James McAvoy lives in the same cinematic world as a character from another Shyamalan movie when Bruce Willis suddenly appears, playing David Dunn, the main character from 2000's "Unbreakable."
Kevin's mother failed to protect him from abuse and neglect, either due to her own damaged state or her lack of interest in fulfilling her role as a caregiver [1]. Her abusive behavior and neglectful actions contributed to Kevin's trauma and likely exacerbated his psychological struggles.
His mother, now his sole caretaker, physically abuses him—in one flashback, simply for making a mess—causing Dennis, the first “alter,” to be born. This stronger personality allows Kevin to cope, particularly due to his affinity for keeping things perfectly neat and clean, helping Kevin to avoid his mother's rage.
John Cooke is the secondary antagonist of the 2016 horror-thriller film Split, the second installment in the Eastrail 177 film trilogy. He is the sexually abusive uncle of protagonist Casey Cooke.
So the Beast does indeed emerge – McAvoy becomes ultra strong, his skin gets super hard, he gains the ability to climb impossible walls (somewhat unconvincingly) and his voice gets even creepier. And he does indeed completely eviscerate and eat two of the girls.
At the end of that movie, the Beast lets Casey, one of the teenagers he has kidnapped, go—all because she has suffered sexual abuse throughout her life. (He only eats innocent girls who have never suffered.) The villain distills the movie's philosophy in one creepy line: “Rejoice! The broken are more evolved.”
The Beast: By far the most dangerous, hostile and terrifying of all the personalities, the Beast is the 24th identity that resides in Kevin's mind. Apparently the Beast resided in the train yard where Kevin's father died, and up until his arrival he was not seen by the other personalities.
Three girls are kidnapped by a man with a diagnosed 23 distinct personalities. They must try to escape before the apparent emergence of a frightful new 24th.
In tense and frankly horrific opening scenes, Dennis, one of Kevin's personalities, abducts three underage girls by spraying them and one of their fathers in the face with some sort of chloroform and taking the girls to his hidden lair, where at first they share a single locked room with a spotless bathroom attached.
Night Shyamalan's Split drew inspiration from the real life court case of Billy Milligan. Milligan's landmark verdict of not guilty based on Dissociative Identity Disorder still captures public interest today. Shyamalan's portrayal of DID in Split is based on Milligan's case but takes many creative liberties.
Split was met with criticism over how Shyamalan portrayed DID as a stereotype and violent. The National Alliance for Mental Illness describes DID as, “an involuntary escape from reality characterized by a disconnection between thoughts, identity, consciousness and memory.”

He as “Barry” (who is really “Dennis” disguised as “Barry”), explains a new personality beginning to form, one known as “The Beast”.
