Bilbo detests his cousins as much as they dislike him. He especially strongly disliked Lobelia because she tried to steal his own spoons that once belonged to his family. He especially is mad when they are auctioning off his things before he steals his house back.
Smaug, a dragon, is the main antagonist of The Hobbit. He features heavily in the final scenes of the book when the party finally arrives at the Lonely Mountain. Bilbo uses his cleverness and his ability to turn invisible (with the help of his magic ring) to help him understand Smaug's weaknesses.

What does Bilbo regret?
Bilbo regrets giving himself the nickname "Barrel-Rider." The nickname gives Smaug a clue that Bilbo and company had help from the people of Lake Town, and Smaug flies off that way at the end of the chapter.
He was your basic partly Took hobbit, susceptible to adventures, but in no way can you call him evil. He spared Gollum when he had a chance to kill him, helped rescue the dwarves in Mirkwood, and again from the elves, He did take the Arkenstone, but that was a situation of “For the greater good”.

Thorin apologizes to Bilbo, saying that the world would be a better place if only more folks were like him. He asks for Bilbo's forgiveness. He bids farewell, and dies. Bilbo cries over the loss of Thorin – but is so glad that he made it in time to say goodbye and to make amends before he died.
The biggest blow to the dwarves is that their king Thorin lies mortally wounded. He forgives Bilbo before dying and lets Bilbo know that he was right all along. Thorin is replaced by Dain as king, Bard rebuilds his town, and Gandalf and Bilbo head for home.

Bilbo's Compassion Protected Him From The Ring's Corruption
One thing that protects Bilbo from the corruption of the Ring is his compassion. After finding the One Ring in the goblin tunnels under Misty Mountain, Bilbo escapes by using the Ring to turn invisible.
Thorin literally pulls Bilbo aside and admits his suspicions of one of the dwarves hiding the Arkenstone while he believes Bilbo won't betray him. Felt hurt and betrayed Bilbo gave the Arkenstone away. Thorin had been cheerful to see Bilbo alive and well.

Is Thorin Oakenshield a bad guy? Thorin redeems any bad qualities at the end of the novel by apologizing to Bilbo and realizing his faults and the harm he has caused everyone. Falling ill to Dragon Sickness does not mean that person was inherently bad or evil.
Tauriel truly threw a wrench in Legolas' life when he fell in love with her. She was brave, fierce, and a protective leader of the guard. He was meant to be the dutiful son of King Thranduil, but in loving her, he became a stubborn, masterful archer instead. He loved exploration and adventure over his duties.
It is an indication of the dwarves' increasing respect for Bilbo that Thorin sends him to investigate the elves they spot in the forest. Nevertheless, Bilbo is still enough of a hobbit to dream of food and feasting in the midst of their peril.
However, Tauriel also has a "softer side", and her character arc includes a love story. Though she and Legolas first met as children, and their relationship is significant, her romantic arc is not with him, as she develops a mutual attraction to the dwarf Kíli.
He had already celebrated his 131st birthday, becoming the oldest Hobbit in the history of Middle-earth. As a mortal, he died in the West. While sailing west, Bilbo composed a last poem looking back on Middle-earth in farewell.

Another issue that clearly separates Bilbo Baggins from the classic hero's concept is the fact that he “betrays” his group. By giving the Arkenstone to Bard, knowing that was one of the items the Dwarves wanted the most, Bilbo is accused of treason, something that was unthinkable for the classic hero.
