In the source material, the identity of Natasha's mother is unknown, as she left a young Natasha in the custody of a man named Ivan Petrovich and she died shortly after during the Battle of Stalingrad, with Petrovich raising young Natasha.

Yelena Belova appears in media set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portrayed by Florence Pugh. This version is a sister to Natasha Romanoff and was trained to be a Black Widow alongside her in the Red Room. Pugh first appears in the live-action film Black Widow (2021).
Romanoff continued to lead his orchestra in performances up until his retirement in 1983, touring throughout Canada and the United States and making more than 10 commercial albums, many of them for RCI Records. He died in Toronto in 1997 at the age of 83.
