Anna Valerious is the love interest of Van Helsing. Her mission is to kill Dracula once and for all, following in her ancestor's footsteps who dedicated their lives in attempting to do so. She is the last heir to the royal bloodline of House Valerious and is therefore attacked several times.

Who did Dracula seduce?
Dracula "seduces" both Lucy and Mina. In the former case, he suggestively "penetrates" Lucy's neck while Lucy, who had been sleepwalking, is sprawled over a mossy embankment, outside.
In Bram Stoker's original novel, Mina is not only not in love with Dracula, she is actively repelled by him. Not in the original work, no. But filmmakers are generally uninterested in making faithful depictions of a classic; they like to probe for (and if need be, invent) new angles or interpretations.

Back at HQ, Axel discovers the truth. Carter AKA Polly is actually his long lost sister who was taken from the playground by Lorne so many years ago. Axel is angry, but she begs him not to take out his rage on the old man, because it is the anger that she fears, not what happened to her.
Vanessa later starts embracing her vampire side as she finally gives into the tempting bowl of blood left for her in her cell. She drinks from it ravenously, and the blood has a powerful effect on her ... so powerful that she's able to crush her bedpost with the slightest grip.
Dracula reveals that Van Helsing is actually the archangel Gabriel - the left hand of God - as well as the one who originally murdered him. He offers to restore Van Helsing's memories, but Van Helsing refuses, deciding that "some things are better left forgotten".
Much of the action in Dracula takes place in England, and Van Helsing stands out as an outsider among the other characters. One of the ways Stoker emphasizes his foreignness is through his speech. Van Helsing's attempts at English provide some of the comic relief in a very dark novel.
Count Dracula is drawn to Mina because of her purity and innocence. His plan to move to London and make it his new feeding ground places him in a reverse colonial position. He will gradually destroy Victorian norms by turning ladies like Mina into ravenous, lustful creatures like his Transylvanian brides.
After Dracula learns of this plot against him, he takes revenge by visiting - and biting - Mina at least three times. Dracula also feeds Mina his own blood, dooming her to become a vampire should she die.
In the end, after Dracula's death, Mina is restored to her previous state. The mark on her forehead symbolizes Mina's transformation. Shortly after being bitten by Dracula, Dr. Van Helsing places a communion wafer on her forehead, burning her and leaving a scar.
