Christine Hamilton (Kelly Rutherford) barely gets a name in the third Scream and is killed within the first 15 minutes of the movie. Hamilton is Cotton Weary's girlfriend, who unceremoniously dies simply because of that connection. Her death is forgettable and provides no more purpose than to raise the body count.

Many fans view Scream 3 as a disappointment after the beloved first sequel, and this is reflected in its kill count. While 10 deaths is a good number for a horror movie, it is the same number reached by Scream 2, meaning Scream 3 fails to offer anything new beyond its Hollywood setting.
Ghostface kills Stab 3 actress Sarah Darling, causing production of the film to be halted. The remaining cast, along with Dewey and Gale, gather at the home of Jennifer Jolie, the actress playing Gale in Stab 3. Scream 3 is the only film in the franchise where only one identity is revealed as Ghostface: Roman Bridger played by Scott Foley. Roman is the main antagonist of the third installment and the fifth Ghostface murderer unmasked overall.
While critic and audience score data does support that Scream 3 is technically the worst, it's also possible to think that there aren't truly any bad movies in the Scream franchise.

The tone had changed as well. While the Scream franchise has always been known for its humor, Scream 3 leaned into it even more, and with the kills toned down too, it meant that the final product was overly tame and simply uninteresting.
Dewey and Gale split up to warn the others. Dewey finds Tyson (the actor playing fake Randy) and Gale finds Roman's body in a prop coffin and she and Jennifer run out of the basement.
Scream 3 reveals shocking secrets about Sidney's family, including that the real mastermind behind her mother's murder was her half-brother, Roman Bridger. Roman orchestrated the roles of Billy, Stu, and Cotton in Maureen's murder, using footage of Maureen's affairs to manipulate Billy into killing her.
Ghostface is revealed in the finale as both Billy and Stu, who reveal that they murdered Sidney's mother and framed Cotton. Billy cites his motivation as abandonment by his mother, brought about by his father's affair with Maureen, while Stu cites "peer pressure".
The third in the series is watchable and entertaining -- if you can take the blood, swearing and cynicism -- but shows signs of stretching characters and gimmicks a little too far. When you've been Screaming over three movies, it's not surprising that the voice starts to get hoarse.
The good news is SCREAM 3 has slightly less blood and not as many gruesome deaths as the previous movies. Sex and nudity are also gone. The bad news is it's still violent entertainment aimed at young people, with excessive foul language. A few cameo appearances occur, and the rules of movie trilogies are explained.
(It was actually her bf Steve) Casey Becker was a student at Woodsboro High School and the first character appearing in Scream. She has the dubious honor of being the first on-screen victim of a Ghostface killer and being his second murder of the movie.
As for why Angelina being the second killer in Scream 3 was scrapped, that's not entirely clear. All those involved have said is that producers - one assumes meaning Dimension Films bosses Harvey and Bob Weinstein - didn't like the idea, and demanded it be changed.
Scream 7 is officially happening, but fans have been stunned by two unexpected exits from the new movie. Both Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who played sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter in Scream (2022) and Scream VI, won't be returning for the new movie.
However, Scream 3 recontextualized this. The threequel featured a lone killer: Hollywood director Roman Bridger (Scott Foley), Sidney's long-lost half-brother. As it turns out, years before Sidney was born, Maureen spent two years living in Los Angeles, attempting to make it as an actress under the name Rina Reynolds.
When Casey answers incorrectly, Steve is disemboweled on her porch and she is asked another question to save her own life. When she refuses to answer, Ghostface chases her down and kills her, leaving her disemboweled and hanged from a tree, where she is discovered by her mother Mrs. Becker.
Though Jennifer is brutally murdered by Ghostface (he chases her down and stabs her repeatedly in the torso), Posey has revealed that she would be very open to reprising her role — echoing recent comments by OG Scream victim Drew Barrymore.
Unfortunately for Scream franchise fans that may want to see Stu Macher make a comeback, Scream 6 has fairly definitively laid the theories to rest by confirming his death. There is a lingering shot in the film that shows Stu Macher's photo and confirms that he died in 1996.
Detective Bailey admitted they'd faked Quinn's death during the apartment murders scene and switched her body out with a different murder victim when the police came to take her away. Sam and Tara were shocked when the third Ghostface took her mask off and revealed herself as Quinn.
Anika's ladder death in Scream 6 will be remembered as one of the most memorable deaths in the franchise due to its graphic violence and emotional impact, as she was killed by her supposed friend. The three Ghostface killers in Scream 6 went to great lengths to hide their true identities, even faking Quinn's death.
At the end of Scream 6, Detective Bailey, Quinn Bailey, and Ethan Landry revealed themselves as killers. Their motive was that Richie was Detective Bailey's son, and Quinn and Ethan were his siblings.
The general criticism of Scream 3 is that it doesn't focus on final girl Sidney Prescott that much. That's a shame since, of course, this entire story is about Sidney, her strength, her past, her family, and her will to live.
It grossed $97 million worldwide on a budget of $40 million, becoming the lowest-grossing film in the Scream franchise. Scream 4 was the final film to be directed by Craven before his death in 2015.
Taking Ghostface further into the 21st century and making him more ruthless did mean Scream 4 was scarier than its predecessor, but it doesn't hold up to the rest of the franchise for the genuine fear factor.
