It's very likely that Valentina sees Hawkeye as a threat to her overall plans. So much so that de Fontaine coerced Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) to kill Clint Barton, playing into her grief and blaming Barton for the death of Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson).
And surprisingly, she finds out that Kate's mother, Eleanor Bishop is the person who hired her. Apparently, Eleanor has been working with Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, from the start.
Barton told them that Bishop was innocent and had accidentally put on the suit and that Ronin was killed by Black Widow. However, Lopez refused to believe Barton and approached Bishop. She tried to explain her innocence, but was then attacked by Lopez, who tried to strangle her.

Who hired Yelena to kill Hawkeye?

In the show Hawkeye, Yelena told Kate Bishop that Eleanor Bishop hired her to kill Hawkeye, but we did see in Black Widow in the after credits scene Valentina showing her Hawkeye photo and telling her it is her next target.
Yelena was born in Moscow, Soviet Russia; at the age of 15 she was recruited by the GRU. After the death of her trainer, Pyotr Vasilievich Starkovsky, she is activated as the new Black Widow and deployed to investigate.
Bucky Barnes is one of the few figures who, while coming from the Red Room, Natasha trusts and cherishes. They first develop a romantic relationship when Barnes trains her as his Winter Soldier persona in the Red Room, though they are eventually split by their superiors.

As the two talk, it's revealed that Yelena works for the Contessa, who elected to give the former Widow her next target personally. The target in question is none other than Clint Barton's Hawkeye, and the Contessa identifies him as "the man responsible" for Romanoff's death.
She puts down Kate for blindly believing in Clint that he is a good guy, when all she knows about him herself is that he supposedly killed her sister and she has no proof of that beyond Julia's character telling her that that is what he did.
In an alternate 1949, Carter was met by Rogers after completing his tasks. They lived a happy life together and were married. So there you have it. After we last saw Yelena in “Black Widow,” she spent her time freeing other black widows from mind control, got snapped out of existence, and then began working as a contract killer for Valentina – which is how she got assigned to take out Hawkeye.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier established that Romanoff was born in 1984 and Black Widow's prologue introduced young Natasha (Ever Anderson) in 1995 when she was 11 years old. Meanwhile, young Yelena (Violet McGraw) was 6 years old in Black Widow's prologue, so she was born in 1989.
As a result of her conversation with Clint about her sister, Yelena abandoned her revenge-driven mission. However, that doesn't mean the MCU is done with her. Now that Yelena has accepted that Hawkeye isn't responsible for Black Widow's death, she can move on and enter a new chapter of her life.
Portrayed by. Armand Duquesne III was a wealthy socialite and the uncle of Jack Duquesne. Once Duquesne III became aware of Eleanor Bishop's connections with Wilson Fisk and threatened to expose them both, he was murdered by Bishop under the order of Fisk.
The mission in question? Tracking down and killing Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), who Val falsely tells Yelena is “the man who killed” her sister.
