Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Vivienne may be the only one of their kids who appears in Maleficent opposite her mom, but the entire family started off being in the film.

Angelina Jolie has revealed the reason why her daughter Vivienne, 5, was cast in her new film Maleficent. The 38-year-old admitted she didn't set out for Vivienne to be an actor. However, Vivienne was the only child actor she could find who wasn't terrified of her in costume.
In August 2012, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, Jolie's real-life daughter with Brad Pitt, was announced to play 5-year-old Aurora. She was cast due to being the only child on the film set who wasn't frightened of Jolie in a full Maleficent costume. Jolie also offered the role to her other daughter, Shiloh, but she refused.
“Beastie” is what Maleficent calls her. “Aurora” is her name, or Dawn, if you want a translation. “Sleeping Beauty” is what we've always called her, especially since Disney's badly received 1959 animated feature of the same name.
Maleficent confirms that Aurora will grow in grace and beauty, "beloved by all who know her", but as revenge for not being invited by the kingdom, she curses Aurora so that before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel's spindle and die.
Since watching Aurora over her childhood years, Maleficent soon grew a maternal love for her. One day Aurora thought that Maleficent was her faerie godmother and often visited the Moors while Maleficent tried to stop the curse but she herself had said no power on Earth could cure it apart from true love's kiss.
Fortunately, the baby found an adoptive family in the real world, and it's revealed that the child has a star birthmark on her wrist, just like the one young Lily and Emma bonded over as children.
She was called "Beastie" by Maleficent. At first, Maleficent hated Aurora, but Maleficent soon had developed a close bond with her, so she now calls Aurora "Beastie" as a nickname and a sign of affection towards her. Aurora was only able to wear her signature pink dress in the second film.
The irony is that Aurora was taken from her mother to protect her from Maleficent, but, to Aurora, Leila is simply the woman who gave birth to her while she refers to Maleficent as her Fairy Godmother.
She is the leader of the Disney Villains. She is also Mal's mother, and Hades' wife. Maleficent is considered the most dangerous and feared villainess, such that invoking her name strikes fear and terror in people's hearts. Maleficent is portrayed by Kristin Chenoweth.
Later, Stefan betrays Maleficent and steals her wings so he could claim that he killed her and become king. After the painful loss of her wings, Maleficent becomes enraged over his treachery, and as her heart of gold turns to stone, she becomes the evilest magical being in the land.
Shortly after Stefan is done with his chat with Maleficent's wings, Queen Leila dies of an illness, and she never gets the chance to meet her daughter, who on the other hand is unaware of her identity and was not given the chance to learn about her mother due to Stefan's obsession causing him to neglect her as well.
In the games he is referred to just as "Maleficent's Raven". Diablo is portrayed by Sam Riley in the live-action 2014 reboot Maleficent; renamed Diaval, he is introduced as a captured raven, whom Maleficent rescues by empowering him to shapeshift at will.
In the first Maleficent movie, Stefan becomes Maleficent's first love, but after she fights against the King's Army the king orders for someone to kill her in order to become the heir to the throne.
On cue, Maleficent in the present wants to know what Charming and Snow did with her child. In the past, Snow and Charming steal Maleficent's egg in order to have the Sorcerer's apprentice put Emma's evil inside of it.
Maleficent takes flight and Stefan falls to his death, a victim of his own unrelenting desire for power and revenge. Maleficent soon undoes the dark magic in the Moors, restoring its former light and beauty. The Moors and the human kingdom are now united, and Aurora is crowned Queen of both kingdoms.
When the dark fairy's curse is at last fulfilled, despite her efforts to renounce it, Maleficent herself (rather than Phillip) breaks the spell with a remorseful kiss on Aurora's brow. Aurora then saves Maleficent from her royal father, by returning the dark fairy's wings to her.
In Maleficent, Phillip kisses Aurora, but he doesn't awake her from her death sleep, instead is Maleficent who kisses her on her forehead, awakening the Princess Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty.
