Matthew Murdock is a fictional character primarily portrayed by Charlie Cox in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) media franchise, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name—commonly known by his alias, Daredevil.

I have always loved superheroes, and Daredevil, who is blind, captured my attention long ago. The main character, Matt Murdock (Daredevil), became blind after an incident involving a chemical spill when he was a child. As of 2023, the character has appeared in the Marvel Television series Daredevil (2015–2018), the miniseries The Defenders (2017), the Marvel Studios film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and the Disney+ television series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022). Future appearances include Echo (2024) and Daredevil: Born Again.
Daredevil's senses have been heightened as a result of his radioactive accident, and that opened up a world of new possibilities for him. For instance, Matt Murdock has the ability to identify people by listening to their heartbeat and smelling their body odor, but his senses are capable of more than just that.
#8, Spider-Man villain Electro learns that Daredevil is blind and tells the world. Since criminals now know how to overwhelm his super senses, Daredevil agrees to an operation that restores his sight – but takes away his superhuman senses.

However, despite his incredible prowess as a blind hero in the Marvel Universe, Daredevil has a surprising weakness that means pretty much anyone can take him down - as a sprinkler once proved how volatile he was against rain and water, as it severely messed with his powers.
These experiences shaped Daredevil's and Spider-Man's characters, making them two of the most committed heroes in the Marvel Universe. Despite the similarities between the two crime fighters, Daredevil takes the cake as Marvel's most tragic character.
