(Spoiler Alert: You later find out that Brom is Eragon's father. The fact that Eragon is not aware of this for a couple of books after Brom dies is unfortunate, but it makes Eragon even more thankful for all his father and mentor did for him.) I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the whole series.
