With or without his infamous Infinity Gauntlet, the mere mention of the Mad Titan strikes terror across the entire galaxy. But even Thanos' Mad Titan moniker pales in comparison to the new nickname given to his honorary grandfather, the Eternal Uranos the Undying.
Created by Jim Starlin, the character first appeared in Iron Man #55 (February 1972). Kronos is a cosmic being who is the embodiment of time. He is the brother of Uranos. He is also the grandfather of the supervillain Thanos.
Thanos was born on Saturn's moon Titan as the son of Eternals A'lars and Sui-San, the grandson of Kronos, the nephew of Zuras, and the grandnephew of Oceanus and Uranos. His brother is Eros of Titan.
Thanos' paternal grandfather is Kronos, the former leader of the Eternals on Earth. This does make Thanos an Eternal as well; although his physical mutations mark him as a Deviant. Regardless, the Eternals family line started by Kronos and his wife, Daina. Their union produced two sons: A'Lars and Zuras.
Trivia. Uranos is Thanos' granduncle, as Thanos is the grandson of Uranos' brother Kronos; however, Thanos considers Uranos to be his honorary grandfather.

What Greek god is Thanos?
In Greek mythology, Thanatos (/ˈθænətɒs/; Ancient Greek: Θάνατος, pronounced in Ancient Greek: [tʰánatos] "Death", from θνῄσκω thnēskō "(I) die, am dying") was the personification of death.
From his birth on Saturn's moon of Titan, Thanos was always an outsider. He carries a Deviants gene, which causes his gruesome and misshapen appearance, with purple, rugged skin. He was born among the last sons of Titan's original colonists: Mentor and Sui-San.
Zeus is the child of Cronus and Rhea, the youngest of his siblings to be born, though sometimes reckoned the eldest as the others required disgorging from Cronus's stomach. In most traditions, he is married to Hera, by whom he is usually said to have fathered Ares, Eileithyia, Hebe, and Hephaestus.
Cronus was the ruling Titan who came to power by castrating his Father Uranus. His wife was Rhea. There offspring were the first of the Olympians. To insure his safety Cronus ate each of the children as they were born.
According to Hesiod's Theogony, there were 12 original Titans: the brothers Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Cronus and the sisters Thea, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, and Tethys. At the instigation of Gaea the Titans rebelled against their father, who had shut them up in the underworld (Tartarus).
At the peak of their battle, King Thanos calls Thanos by his intended birth name: Dione. The story of how Thanos earned his name begins on the planet Titan. Thanos was born to A'Lars and Sui-San, members of a race of aliens called Eternals.
Nebula appears in The Super Hero Squad Show, voiced by Jane Lynch. This version is Thanos' older sister. Nebula, based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) incarnation, appears in Guardians of the Galaxy (2015), voiced by Cree Summer.
Thanos adopted six known children, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, Cull Obsidian, the Zehoberei Gamora, and the Luphomoid Nebula, and trained them in the ways of combat, turning each of them into a deadly warrior.
While Kronos was benevolent to these primordial humans, he was also a paranoid and angry figure. In particular, he feared that his own children would continue the cycle of throne usurpation, a fear validated by a prophecy that his own child would defeat him.
The gods eventually won and overthrew the Titans. Zeus then cut up his father Cronus and threw him into the pit of Tartarus. His Roman equivalent is Saturn.
