The main antagonist is Chucky (except in the fourth and fifth films). Chucky is the embodiment of Charles Lee Ray, the notorious Lakeshore Strangler whose soul passed onto a Good Guy Doll.

Who defeated Chucky?
At the end of the film, Andy, his mother Karen, and two police detectives, Mike Norris and Jackie Santos, try to fight off Chucky. After he's lit on fire and loses both an arm and a leg, Karen shoots him repeatedly, and he is even beheaded. It isn't until Norris shoots Chucky in the heart that he finally dies.
Unfortunately, as is so often the case, that Good Guy doll has been possessed by the spirit of a serial killer, the notorious Charles Lee Ray. After gruesomely murdering several people in Andy's life, Chucky attempts to transfer his soul into Andy so that he can be a real boy.
However, after they managed to seemingly hypnotise a Chucky doll into being good, nicknamed "Good Chucky", Nadine stuck by his side as a guardian before she was ultimately murdered by him, devastating Jake, Devon, and Lexy.
The battle between the Glen and Glenda personas continues, with Glen being a nice boy that doesn't like violence, and Glenda being a sadistic killer like her parents. Eventually, Tiffany decides to give up killing to raise her child, but Chucky refuses.
He only became evil due to his sadistic desire to hurt and kill others, shown when his father was killed by the Hackensack killer, and decided to become just like him because he was inspired by the killers actions.
The Child's Play franchise is known for its brutal, high kill counts. Racking up the kills together from all seven movies, Chucky has killed a total of 67 people.
Hating Sarah makes sense since he thought she was the one who called the cops on him when it was actually Tiffany but Mike Norris is the direct cause of Chucky dying. After Chucky kills most of Sarah's family in Curse, Chucky goes after Andy instead of Mike Norris.

Through flashbacks, Chucky explains that he was a friend of the family. He was in love with Sarah, but she was married and pregnant with Nica. Chucky killed Sarah's husband and kidnapped her some time after the funeral. After Sarah rejects him, Chucky stabs her in the stomach before fleeing from the police.
Nica begs to know his motive, and Chucky reveals himself as a family friend who was secretly in love with Nica's mother Sarah. He says he killed Nica's father and kidnapped Sarah.
After her husband's funeral, she is kidnapped by Charles, but manages to call the police. Charles angered by her rejection, pulls out a knife and stabs her in the stomach before fleeing the oncoming police. Because she was pregnant with Nica, his actions cause her to be paraplegic.
Summaries. While Andy's mother is admitted to a psychiatric hospital, the young boy is placed in foster care, and Chucky, determined to claim Andy's soul, is not far behind.
While neither Karen nor Mike has been seen onscreen since the first Child's Play, Child's Play 2 did reveal that prior to its opening, Karen had been placed in a mental hospital due to her backing up of Andy's story about Chucky being alive. That led to Andy being placed in foster care and meeting Kyle.
