For the second time in Voldemort's life, the unforgivable curse rebounded on him, as the Elder Wand wouldn't kill its master. Since Harry and his friends had already destroyed all of Voldemort's Horcruxes, this finally ended Lord Voldemort's life, with Harry finally defeating the Dark Lord.
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Neville is actually the person who destroys Voldemort's last Horcrux in Nagini, rendering him mortal, meaning that he and Harry truly delivered the final blows to Voldemort.
During his final confrontation with Voldemort, Harry knew that he (Harry) was the Elder Wand's true master. He again cast Expelliarmus, ejecting the wand from Voldemort's hand into his own as the Killing Curse rebounded off his body, fatally striking Voldemort.
The two spells collided with a bang like a cannon blast — though it was short-lived. The Elder Wand, however, refused to harm its true master and flipped over, flying high toward its rightful master. The rebounding Killing Curse hit Lord Voldemort, and his lifeless body hit the floor, his white hands then empty.
The prophecy is mentioned throughout the series, however, it never exclusively mentions that Harry is The Chosen One and suggests Neville was another option. However, one theory explains why, in reality, this wasn't possible.

Why is Snape the half-blood prince?
Family. Snape's family background is mostly shown in flashbacks during the course of the last three novels. Snape was born to Eileen Prince, a witch, and Tobias Snape, a Muggle, making him a half-blood (hence the name, "Half-Blood Prince").
Initially, Voldemort twisted Harry into the position by first looking at his lineage. Tom Riddle and Harry Potter were both half-bloods, which meant Harry was more like him than the pureblooded Neville. From there, Voldemort focused specifically on the Potters, who had defied him to no end.
He was finally killed by his own backfired Killing Curse after Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore succeeded in destroying all of his Horcruxes. Unknown to most, however, Voldemort's legacy and bloodline would live on through his daughter Delphini, whom he conceived with his loyal follower Bellatrix Lestrange.
Due to his humiliation in the Triwizard Tournament, Cedric eventually becomes a Death Eater and kills Neville Longbottom. Due to Neville's death, the final Horcrux Nagini was never destroyed, and as a result Voldemort is never defeated, kills Harry and takes over the Wizarding World.
As Bellatrix and Voldemort were both killed in the Battle and Bellatrix's husband Rodolphus was imprisoned at Azkaban, Delphi was raised by Euphemia Rowle, a Death Eater. However, the life at Euphemia's was miserable for Delphi as Rowle did not really care for her and only took her in because she was paid for it.
In the build-up to Snape's death, Voldemort used his wand to cut the throat of the Potions Professor before uttering the fateful order: “Nagini, kill”. The snake then repeatedly attacks Snape, resulting in a bloody and violent death.
While Ron never killed anyone in the movies, Hermione had her one big moment in the Battle of Hogwarts. She and Ron walked in and witnessed Fenrir Greyback killing Lavender Brown and Hermione lashed out in anger and killed the werewolf by blasting him over a cliff -- a slight change from his death in the books.
The now weak Voldemort was overcome by Harry's spell and hit by it, with the Elder Wand going back to Harry's hand. Voldemort's body then began to disintegrate, and his ashes floated away into the wind.

Neville is a pure-blood wizard born to Frank and Alice Longbottom, who were prominent Aurors and also members of the Order of the Phoenix during the first war against Lord Voldemort.
Voldemort intended Draco to die in the attempt to kill Dumbledore so that Lucius would be punished for his failure to retrieve the prophecy from the Ministry of Magic.
Severus Snape is also a half-blood (he gave himself the nickname "The Half-Blood Prince"), as his father Tobias Snape was a Muggle. Harry himself is a half-blood, since his pure-blood father, James, married a Muggle-born witch named Lily, and his maternal grandparents were Muggles.
