Vincent then peacefully succumbs to his gunshot wound and dies, with Leo walking off and leaving the factory. Vincent shoots Leo - If Vincent reaches the gun first, he aims it at Leo's chest and pulls the trigger, with Leo being mortally wounded from the bullet.
Ending. In one ending, Vincent grabs the gun first and shoots Leo in the chest. Both realizing that this is the end, they both grab each other's hands until Leo dies from the gunshot.
Or the player can decide that Vincent dies instead. The First ending, where Vincent lives, shows Vincent shooting Leo in the chest, killing him. He then travels to Leo's wife, Linda, and kid, Alex, where he explains the situation. Stricken with grief, Linda forces Vincent out.
After surviving a waterfall, the duo finds civilization, after which Leo reveals he and Harvey had stolen a valuable gem, the Black Orlov, but when Leo tried selling it, Harvey betrayed him by killing their buyer and escaping with the gem, leading to Leo's incarceration.
Leo reunites with his wife Linda and their son Alex as they begin to pack and set off to parts unknown. The A Way Out ending comes to a close with a scene showing Leo driving away while Vincent's funeral takes place - at the same time.
If Vincent survives, you'll hold hands with Leo one last time and break the news of his death to Linda and Alex. If Leo survives, he'll leave Vincent's note on Carol's doorstep for her to read. Both endings are structured in a very similar way, but you'll see slightly different lore bits in each cutscene.
"What I can say is that it's not A Way Out 2,” said Josef Fares, studio head, when he spoke to me at Gamelab Barcelona. “But it's going to be something with story, and in many cases remind [players] of Brothers and A Way Out, but in a very different way.” So, another co-op game?
The big twist is that Vincent is an undercover cop, at which point the game goes from co-op to PvP as our two protagonists duke it out to the death. The split screen nature of the game now represents the synchronicity of the characters, able to understand each other on such a deep level that they know how they think.
Gary Moretti is the brother of Vincent. He is seen in some cut scenes and is a Police Officer, like Vincent. Gary was shot in the head by Harvey, resulting in his death. Gary's death is what caused Vincent to go undercover.
It would have been better if a different endings or twist would have been used instead of the Donnie Brasco twist. I think the ending where Leo dies is the better one. It's a lot sadder. both of the endings are sad but Vincent's ending is moreso.
At the start of each play session players can choose to play either as Vincent, a 43-year old with a level-headed personality, or Leo, an impetuous 36 year-old who nurses a fear of heights.
The biggest moment in A Way Out comes towards the end of the short game, when Vincent reveals that he's an undercover cop. He and the rest of the police had been using Leo to track down Harvey and the Black Orlov diamond. As a result, the two protagonists spend the rest of the game fighting one another.
Again, you must choose one of two "ways": Vincent's way, in which Vincent takes the gun, or Leo's way, in which Leo keeps the gun. Just as with the other decisions in the game, Leo's way is more aggressive and flagrant while Vincent is more calculated and covert. For Leo's way, head to the door of the gas station.
Harvey is the main antagonist of A Way Out. He was a major crime boss, known for many thefts and murders and having two gold pistols (although it does not use dual if not separately), and was responsible for abandoning Leo to be arrested and later in prison, and the murder of Vincent's brother.
Unfortunately, things go very wrong as Harvey murders Gary and leaves Leo to be arrested. Vincent decides to go undercover and earn Leo's trust and team up with him to hunt down and kill Harvey as revenge.
What happens if Vincent gets the gun in A Way Out?

Past. Harvey is a crime lord, operating in Northern California during the 1970's. Together with a man called Leo - one of the game's protagonists - Harvey pulled off a heist and stole a valuable diamond called the "Black Orlov". When Harvey found a buyer for the diamond afterwards, he betrayed Leo.
According to the interview with VG247, Fares says that there won't be A Way Out 2 but instead there will be another story-driven multiplayer experience that will test players patience with its vast array of mechanics.
At the very beginning of the game, you can choose to play as either Vincent or Leo. You and your co-op friend must both choose a different character, and their stories are completely different. There is no "better" or "easier" character to play as, however, and they are completely equal in terms of gameplay.
No matter whether Vincent kills Leo or Leo kills Vincent, both endings are heart-breaking. In the first case, Vincent travels back to the trailer park to deliver the grim news to Linda.
Trivia. Looking at the wilderness and the surroundings, it bears a great resemblance to the forestlands of Colorado, making this a likely place for where the game takes place. However, it is never stated which state the game is set in, but it is heavily implied to be set in the western U.S. states.
