The original Aladdin story was actually set in China. Aladdin is one of the stories compiled in The Thousand and One Nights — a collection of Middle Eastern and Indian folk tales, however, it did not appear in the original Arabic text.
For instance, the ruler is referred to as "Sultan" rather than "Emperor", as in some retellings, and the people in the story are Muslims and their conversation is filled with Muslim platitudes. A Jewish merchant buys Aladdin's wares, but there is no mention of Buddhists, Daoists or Confucians.

Whether Disney was actually planning Aladdin 4 before the untimely death of Robin Willaims or not, Willaims made it clear in his will that he didn't want his voice clips from the original Aladdin to be used in any media for the next 25 years after his death.
Violent references and undressing references have been edited for the Disney+ release. One of the lyrics in "Arabian Nights" that said "Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face." were replaced by one that said "Where it's flat and immense and the heat is intense".
According to the Mirror, several movies have been totally REMOVED from Disney+ kids profiles, so now they can only be watched with parental consent. The films removed are Dumbo, Aladdin (including the sequels and Live Action version), Peter Pan, Swiss Family Robinson, Lady and the Tramp, and The Aristocats.
On Oct. 15, Disney Plus introduced a new disclaimer that appears before older films like Dumbo (1941) and Aladdin (1992), warning viewers that the films include harmful stereotypes. The new message replaces the one that came with the original launch of Disney Plus late last year.
While some claim Jasmine is Arab because the movie opens with a song called Arabian Nights, others believe that the architecture in Agrabah is clearly based on the Taj Mahal, making Jasmine Indian. It's a debate that has fueled speculation that in Hollywood, Indians and Arabs are interchangeable.
The lyrics to the version of "Arabian Nights" heard in this film were lifted from the original demo version of the song. Robin Williams was not a part of this movie due to a disagreement with Disney (see trivia for Aladdin (1992). Walt Disney Television Animation Australia animates the first 34 minutes of the film.
To utilise Disney characters without violating their rights, you must obtain permission from The Walt Disney Company or its subsidiaries. Its characters are protected by copyright and trademark laws, and unauthorised use can lead to legal consequences.
According to US copyright law, the rights for a character expire 95 years after the publication of the original work. Disney will lose the Mickey Mouse copyright for Steamboat Willie in 2024, since the short animated film was produced and distributed in 1928.
Disney does not own the stories of Snow White or Cinderella. The company could not register copyright that would prevent anyone from using the underlying story.

Filming. Principal photography began on September 6, 2017, at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England, and wrapped on January 24, 2018. Part of the film was shot in Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan. The Royal Film Commission provided support to the production during filming and assisted in facilitating logistics.
