Emil Blonsky was born in Zagreb (then part of Yugoslavia, now the capital and largest city of Croatia) and became a KGB agent who infiltrated an Air Force Base in New Mexico where Dr.Bruce Banner was attempting to kill the Hulk through overexposure to gamma rays.
The Abomination soundly defeated the Hulk in their first encounter, leaving him near death. After recovering, Banner lured the Abomination back to Desert Base and into a high-tech trap, which sapped away half of Blonsky's strength.
Despite being an unstoppable force, powerful beings like Namor, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Deadpool have managed to outsmart and defeat the Hulk. From fellow superheroes to average soldiers, various characters, including Hawkeye and even Batman, have successfully taken down the Hulk.
This is shown later in the series, where heroes acting on a precognitive vision of a rampaging Hulk, Bruce was then shot in the hypothalamus by Hawkeye who was hiding on a tree nearby.

How did the Hulk get killed?
The Hulk is thrown hundreds of feet into the air and slams onto the concrete, wounded beyond the Hulk's healing powers. Transforming back to human, Banner tells Jasmine he is free, then succumbs to his injuries. Jasmine, Pratt, and Amy mourn for him.
This peace would not last long however, as the warp core on the shuttle that brought Hulk to Sakaar exploded. Despite Hulk's attempt to shield her, Caiera and seemingly her unborn child were one of the many killed when the warp core exploded.
Thanos and Hulk have clashed several times in Marvel lore, with Thanos even admitting he was scared to face the Hulk before acquiring the Infinity Stones. While Thanos is usually the victor, it's generally down to him using superior tactics and technology, rather than simply possessing greater physical strength.
Although Marvel retconned the Hulk to be immortal, it does not prohibit him from being able to die, or at least be killed. He can die, and has... many times, but it just doesn't stick.
One of my favorite splash pages of all time was the one where Tony Stark put all the power of the Iron Man armor into one punch and knocked out the Hulk. I'm sure there are other examples. Sentry, Hyperion, Thor, and the Silver Surfer are the ones who have the best shot.
Since he doesn't continue to physically strengthen with rage, Red Hulk has only a base level of strength. Thus, continuing to fight and anger the Hulk will inevitably lead to Rulk being the weaker of the two.
As Bruce Banner, the character is about 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m) tall and weighs 128 lbs (58.05 kg), but when transformed into the Hulk, the character stands between 7 and 8 ft (2.13 - 2.43 m) tall and weighs between 1,040 and 1,400 lbs (471.73 - 635.02 kg).
The simple answer is no. Yes, Hulk absolutely smashes Thor to the ground with Mjolnir, but, he's holding both Thor and the hammer. Hulk wouldn't have been able to lift Mjolnir by himself, but since the God of Thunder had a firm grip on it as well, he was able to use it as a weapon against his teammate.
Putting it all together, Thor can win against the Hulk, even if he can't kill the Jade Giant. Hulk is practically immortal and has unlimited reserves of strength and stamina, so he can keep fighting forever. Thor's endurance, while godly, is not limitless, so he will eventually lose a prolonged battle.
There's no question the Hulk is a near-indestructible force who comes out on top in almost all of his battles of pure strength. However, against Superman, he's outmatched. While Hulk's strength might rival that of the Man of Steel, Superman's other abilities give him a considerable edge against his opponent.
While many people believed that Hulk was afraid of Thanos after his beat down, the directors confirmed in an interview that Hulk was not afraid of Thanos, but rather was sick of being a punching bag for Earth, and thus did not want to come out. The Hulk has no cause to fear anyone, except the Void.
Remember that Gray Hulk might be the weakest version of the Hulk of all-time but there was one other time that Hulk went gray after that original appearance. This was when he turned into Mr. Fixit.
The two brawlers have fought beyond these two encounters, but these two fights establish a few hard facts: the Hulk can be overpowered by the Juggernaut; the Hulk cannot consistently stop the Juggernaut; and most importantly, the Hulk's strength, even at maximum, cannot harm the Juggernaut at his maximum power.
During a confrontation, Bruce accidentally killed him and blocked these memories. During the Chaos War, Brian was resurrected as a fusion of the Devil Hulk and the Guilt Hulk, facing off his son and feeding of his fears, but was overwhelmed when Jarella told Bruce to face them.
Caiera became pregnant with the Hulk's child, and they hoped to usher in a new age of cooperation among the many people of Sakaar; however, when the SHIELD vessel which brought the Hulk to Sakaar suddenly exploded, Caiera was caught in the blast, which destroyed Crown City.
