The Mouth of Sauron was one of Sauron's most devoted servants. During LOTR, he was the lieutenant of the Tower of Barad-dûr and was Sauron's personal emissary and herald. His early history has never been told, but he was one of the Black Númenóreans who chose to worship Sauron and enter his service.
In the First Age during the War of the Jewels, Dorbon was one of Sauron's strongest servants. He was originally a Maia of Aule, and his name was Maladhros.

Who are the 9 servants of Sauron?
The Nazgûl (Black Speech: Ringwraiths, sometimes written Ring-wraiths), also known as the Nine Riders or Black Riders (or simply the Nine), were Sauron's "most terrible servants" in Middle-earth. They were mortal Men who had been turned into wraiths by their Nine Rings of power.
Sauron's deepest fear was that Aragorn would use the Ring against him. With its powers of domination, Aragorn could comfortably take over the entirety of Sauron's dark army. Though this would eventually corrupt Aragorn, it would allow him to destroy Sauron and take his place.
Morgoth, the first to reign terror upon Middle-earth, was more powerful than Sauron and commanded an army of dragons and Balrogs. While both Morgoth and Sauron were cunning, Morgoth's rule and terror lasted longer and his corruption spread further, making him more formidable in the Lord of the Rings universe.
Meanwhile, a few faithful Númenóreans, led by Elendil, were saved from the flood, and they founded Gondor and Arnor in Middle-earth. Sauron still considered them his hated enemies and he launched a pre-emptive attack on Gondor in S.A. 3429.
Lords of Middle-earth gives the Shadow player alternate versions of the two Sauron Minions (The Witch-king and The Mouth of Sauron) as well as two Lesser Minions (Gothmog and the Balrog of Moria) to further his plans.
In the Third Age, he probably considered Saruman as his worst enemy, until he became corrupted. And he remained a threat, seeking the One Ring for himself. But he'd then have seen Gandalf as the chief problem. Someone who constantly caused his plans to fail.
Throughout The Lord of the Rings, Galadriel used her Ring of Power to guard her home and people from Sauron's evil. Additionally, while he was in his weakened state, Galadriel could hold him off through the power of will alone.
Ultimately, the only being more powerful than Morgoth in his prime was Eru Ilúvatar. Only the combined effort of the Valar could stop Morgoth, and only after countless battles. Sauron might have bested his mentor under certain circumstances, but Morgoth is the greater Dark Lord by every metric.
He is described as being equal in power to Manwë, chief of the Valar in Arda. But his power increases in later revisions of the story until he becomes the most powerful among them, and in a late essay more powerful than all of the other Valar combined.
In The Lord of the Rings, Galadriel chose to use her powers for good, even helping to form the Council of Elrond. Galadriel was not evil. But had she been, there would be none who could stand against her forces, especially if she was in possession of the Ring.
"So I think in his pitch to Galadriel, it cannot mean that he loves her or that there's any kind of romantic relationship. There should be no ambiguity around the fact that Sauron is evil — he's terrible, and he's using Galadriel to enhance his power."
In his notes, Tolkien remarks that Sauron saw Galadriel as his equal. Add that to the fact that she's untrusting of Sauron (yes, even when he's in his Annatar guise) and an unwavering, single-minded force, and it's more likely than not that Sauron feared Galadriel — or the potential she held to upend his plans.
Rather than cast magic at Sauron, Galadriel opts to challenge him on the spiritual plane; she resorts to her Wrath form to penetrate Sauron's mind and break his will. She obviously succeeds, as Sauron audibly cries aloud as he flees.
After he was attacked by the orcs, they transported his lifeless body to Mordor at Sauron's behest. Sauron revived Isildur with one of the nine rings, and then tortured him until his spirit was broken and he became a Nazgûl.
But it is revealed that Aragorn is one of the Dúnedain—a descendant of Númenor—blessed with long life. Éowyn is in disbelief because it is said that Aragorn's race had passed into legend. Aragorn says there are very few Númenóreans left by the time of the War of the Ring.
The Lord of the Nazgûl appears as the Witch-king of Angmar during the Third Age and is instrumental in the destruction of the Northern kingdom of Arnor. in his notes for translators, Tolkien suggested that the Witch-king of Angmar, ruler of a Northern kingdom with its capital at Carn Dûm, was of Númenórean origin.
