The 8th Hunger Games were won by 18 year old Isaac Doyle from District 5. These games were not very memorable as they only lasted 8 days and the winner was not very liked amongst the Capitol. This was the first year where a victor was from District 5.
The 9th Hunger Games were won by 17 year old Flax Barnett from District 8. This year the games did not last very long as the lack of trees meant that tributes were open to the elements and were easily picked off by the stronger tributes.

Cato's moans are never-ending, and Katniss feels only pity for him and wants his suffering to stop. Morning finally comes and Katniss is able to see Cato below. Out of pity, she uses her last arrow to end Cato's life.

The 43rd Hunger Games took place in poisonous cornfields and lasted for 12 days. The main event was an oxygen drop, and the notable animals were friendly cows. This year's Victor was Zachariah Ministron, aged 18, from District 8.
In the film, Thresh's odds of winning change from 10–1 to 11–1. Afterward, they increase from 11–1 to 8–1. In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, Katniss states that Cato killed Thresh. However, this is not in-line with the film continuity, as Thresh was killed by the wolf mutts in the first film.
In the 74th Hunger Games, Clove was the only Career tribute who came close to killing Katniss twice — at the Bloodbath and at the Feast, and certainly seemed to have a deep hatred for her, perhaps because Katniss received a higher score than her.

Katniss kills Glimmer, Marvel, and Cato in The Hunger Games. Glimmer's death occurs by chance. Katniss drops a tracker jacker nest on the Career Tributes' camp while they are sleeping, and Glimmer is stung to death before she can get away. Marvel is the first person that Katniss intentionally kills.
Cato's competitive nature is even more extreme than those of his fellow Careers, as he harbors a deep resentment of Katniss due to her high training score and iterates to his allies that he must be the one to kill her.

In the end, Spruce and Sejanus are hanged at the Hanging Tree; Snow feels responsible for Sejanus' death and is wracked with grief. According to Jacobson, Sejanus' death is a "defining moment" that is "essential" to Snow's transformation into the evil President Snow fans know from the original trilogy.
Out of all the Hunger Games winners that are known in the movies and books, it is clear one district rises above the others. As the entire list of winners is not known, judging by the information known, it appears that District 12 has the most Hunger Games victors with five in total.
