In this case, Logan. Beast didn't like that Logan continued to threaten to leave Krakoa and, “Abandon his duties.” Beast couldn't have “Krakoa's greatest weapon” withdrawing from his post. So he used Wolverine, cloned him, and will probably send him out into the world to murder mutant enemies.
Dark Beast became this person because there was no one around to stop him (Charles Xavier was dead). This is exactly what happened when Krakoa was founded. Without anyone to keep him in check, Hank McCoy of Earth-616 slowly became him. In a year, Hank McCoy could be a fully-fledged villain.
Beast is physically stronger than Wolverine, but Wolverine weighs more. Beast is faster and more acrobatic usually shown as throwing his entire body weight by a fingertip or toe. No holding back Beast fighting Wolverine would be like a boxer fighting someone with a sword.
During the 1990s, I heard lots of stupid questions about why they thought it was a good idea for two X-Men to have the same haircut. The answer is actually simple: Beast had it first (as of March 1972, whereas Wolverine didn't appear without his mask until 1976) and when Wolverine debuted, he wasn't even an X-Man!
In order to disguise his appearance, Hank took the extract and underwent radical physical changes that enhanced his agility and strength, as well as causing him to grow fangs, pointed ears, and fur all over his body. When he stayed too long in this state, Hank found he could not return to his original form.

Beast and Wolverine haven't been getting along lately. It probably has something to do with the fact that Beast killed Wolverine and resurrected him without his memories.
The difference between Beta Mutants and Alpha Mutants is that the Beta Mutants have flaws, albeit very small flaws. The Beta mutants are also believed to be about 10% of the mutant population. Some examples of Beta mutants are Beast, Angel, Wolverine, Mystique and Sabretooth.
An original member of the X-Men, Hank McCoy, AKA Beast is one of the smartest characters in the Marvel Universe. Although the hero started out as a lighthearted and kind mutant, he has performed a series of morally questionable actions over the years, especially during the Krakoan Era.
Wolverine's claws are so deadly, that they once managed to cut straight through colossus, whose body is made up of impenetrable organic metal. Wolverine's adamantium claws are capable of cutting through practically anything.
Powers and abilities. It is possible that Beast's mutation is a result of genetic atavism. However, he also possesses neotenous characteristics, which may explain him having a genius-level intellect despite his animal physique. He also possesses superhuman strength, speed and agility.
His super strength and agility have served him pretty well over the years but he's just not strong enough to really do anything to the Hulk. His acrobatic fighting style would allow him to keep ahead of the Hulk for a time but it just wouldn't be enough.
He has been helping to beat Magneto since he was a teenager, battling him alongside his teammates in the X-Men. While Beast's powers weren't exactly crucial in the battle against Magneto, he did still help the X-Men win.
Wolverine is outmatched by the Juggernaut, and while there's always a way for underdogs to win in Marvel Comics, Cyttorak's avatar would claim victory in any fair fight.
Beast's descent into darkness began with his desire to develop a cure for the Legacy Virus. Believing that he should be able to solve any solution with time and effort, Beast's pursuit of a cure became an unhealthy obsession.
While McCoy famously didn't have his fur when he debuted in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's X-Men #1 in 1963, an experimental formula radically transformed Beast, bestowing the mutant scientist with gray fur which later became blue before changing in even stranger ways.
A brilliant student, McCoy completed his doctoral studies and finally left the X-Men and Professor Xavier's school to take a position as a genetic researcher with the Brand Corporation, a division of Roxxon Oil. There he began working with Dr. Carl Maddicks and started a romance with his assistant, Linda Donaldson.
By manipulating the adamantium that laced Wolverine's skeleton, Magneto ripped the metal out of his body, almost tearing him apart in the process. After the metal resolidified, Wolverine was left incapacitated with large aluminum spikes sticking out of his body.
While Thor is easily the more powerful of the two, he finds himself incapable of matching Wolverine's speed and agility. The mutant is able to get in several swipes at the Asgardian - drawing blood - and even goes full leapfrog on him, impaling him through the back with all six adamantium claws.
Hulk's inability to break Wolverine and his adamantium claws isn't an indictment of the green monster's strength but more shows how strong Wolverine's metal-coated bones really are. If the Hulk can't snap his claws, then it's unlikely many other heroes or villains could do so, either.
Wolverine #31 solidifies the position of the X-Men's Beast as an all out villain - but it also grants him one last chance to be a hero. The following contains spoilers for Wolverine #31, now on sale from Marvel Comics.
Though it doesn't lead anywhere—all they do is exchange a kiss—they still hold affection for each other during the rest of the films series. In the comics, Mystique doesn't have any such relationship with Beast.
With little hesitation, Beast rips out and crushes his own eye to kill the last remaining Doll. Beast's willingness to harm another mutant and mutilate himself highlights how far he is willing to go to protect Krakoa.
