After Jack stumbles upon the town, he becomes mesmerized with the holiday and tries to bring Christmas to Halloween Town. To do so, he orders Lock, Shock, and Barrel to kidnap Santa so Jack can take his place for the Christmas season.
He discovers Christmas Town and decides that this new experience is what his life was missing. He makes preparations for his own Christmas celebration in Halloween Town and wants to impersonate Santa Claus in the real world. While his intentions are not malicious, Jack does not understand the true spirit of Christmas.
Why do they kidnap Santa in Nightmare Before Christmas?
In the movie, Jack orders Lock, Shock, and Barrel to kidnap Santa Claus so that Jack can take over Christmas and "improve" it his way. While Jack instructs the trio of trick or treaters to make Santa comfortable, they instead take him to Oogie Boogie, who intends to imprison and kill him.
Jack Skellington's appearance in James and the Giant Peach as Captain Jack suggests that he was a pirate before he died, explaining his chaotic actions in The Nightmare Before Christmas.
After hearing stories about the supposed "Pumpkin King" of Halloween Town, an envious Oogie Boogie became obsessed with outclassing Jack as the scariest ghoul there is. His manner of doing so developed into a coup to take over Halloween and rebranding it as "Crawloween"—a holiday dedicated to bugs.

Why did Oogie Boogie kidnap sally?
In his attempts to turn Halloween into Bug Day, Oogie Boogie tries to kidnap Jack AKA the Pumpkin King, but Sally is kidnapped by mistake. Oogie Boogie decides to hold her hostage until Jack comes to save her and the town from his terror. It is from this experience that Sally falls in love with Jack.
Jack Skellington is good within his own culture of the Halloween world. He is helpful to the people, creatures and monsters who live there. But his culture is skewed when observed by someone in, say, the Christmas world.
Unlike most Disney characters, Jack Skellington is almost invincible. He's no longer living, so he can easily remove and reattach body parts. What is this? Jack Skellington was once human.
The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack's cut epilogue reveals that Jack and Sally have "four or five" skeleton children who form a xylophone band. The film's ending is hopeful and forward-looking, while the cut epilogue provides a more reflective and bittersweet tone.

Sally is in love with Jack Skellington, but is unsuccessful in showing her affections to Jack. However, by the end of the movie, she manages to let him know how much she loves him and he reveals that he loves her in return. They share a passionate kiss on top of Spiral Hill.
Sally became sympathetic towards Jack's sorrowfulness and understood him of wanting something more in life, causing her to fall deeply in love with him. Sally's newfound love for Jack caused her to return to Dr.
Jack is 77 inches tall, and Sally is 70 inches tall. They are both animatronic, prompted to move when they detect sound or motion nearby. Jack's mouth, hand and arm move while he makes 12 sounds, including phrases from the movie.
He also has the ability to remove bones from his body. Jack can take off his head (to "recite Shakespearean quotations") and remove ribs to play fetch with his dog Zero. Despite this inability to feel pain, Jack reacts negatively when Sally accidentally pricks his thumb with a needle.
Will there ever be a Nightmare Before Christmas 2?
The filmmaker, who came up with the “Nightmare” story, co-produced the film and created character designs, recently told Empire magazine that the stop-motion classic is too important to him to ever create a sequel, prequel, reboot or more. “To me the movie is very important,” Burton said.
While the main characters of The Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie share the same first name, they don't share their last ones. Victor Frankenstein isn't the same person as Victor van Dort. And Jack Skellington is a completely different name. And, obviously, Zero, Sparky, and Scraps are all different names, too.
Jack Skellington is the patron spirit of Halloween, portrayed as being on par with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny within his own holiday. As a living skeleton, he is immortal and can remove parts of his body without harm, as is often demonstrated for comic relief.
Jack, having both faced and beaten Oogie before, knows the truth about the bug-filled windbag and shows absolutely no fear of him, while on the other hand, Oogie is greatly afraid of Jack, as shown from Jack's sudden and unexpected appearance in Oogie's lair in the film.
