Lois was disappointed that Clark wouldn't fight back and knew that he wouldn't tell her his secret again. She was heartbroken, as she felt she wasn't special to him but Clark insisted that the reason for not telling her was because she was special and he wanted to keep her safe.

Does Lois love Clark or the Blur?
Carter quickly discovered that Lois knew about Clark's identity and powers as the Blur. Carter could also see that Lois was in love with Clark as was Clark with her and that they were meant to be together.
