Sirius' long incarceration at a young age affected his emotional development. Lupin and Molly Weasley express disapproval for Sirius's behaviour around Harry, stating that Sirius treats his godson as if he is James, Harry's father, and that this is inappropriate.
A lot of the conflict between Molly and Sirius stemmed from the fact that neither adult could agree on the best way to raise Harry. Sirius had a tendency to treat him as more of a friend and a James-surrogate than as his godson and Molly could be overprotective to the point of shielding him from important information.

Was Sirius Black a good guy?
Fundamentally, he was a good person. He fought for what was right and was unafraid to stand against Voldemort. He joined the Order of the Phoenix not once, but twice. Despite being a pure-blood, he didn't believe that he was superior to other witches, wizards and Muggles.
Sirius's early life proved unhappy; he had come to hate most of his relatives, in particular his mother. He rejected his family's pure-blood elitism and reverence for the Dark Arts.
Weasely and Harry, Sirius ends up being innocent. If he had not been, Harry's time at Hogwarts would have been cut agonizingly short. But Molly did not know (and doesn't find out until far later) that Sirius is innocent, and therefore places him in danger by refusing to protect Harry by telling him the truth.
Molly Weasley was quick to accept Harry into her family. He had been half-starved for 12 years before he set foot into the Burrow, and Ron's mother was determined to remedy this by filling him with as much home-cooked food as possible. From there, Molly continued to treat Harry as one of her own.

Sirius's intense love for James, his grief after James's death, and his anger towards Peter drove him to insanity, getting him locked up in Azkaban for crimes he never committed.
