Representing the future of galactic warfare, clones were designed to be far superior to battle droids. During the last years of the Galactic Republic, clones formed the backbone of the Republic Military, which waged war against the droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
200,000 units were already ready for combat and 1 million more were on the way. Master Sifo-Dyas already ordered for the creation of this clone army. It was the most efficient army at that moment in time and for the Republic to take more time to design their own droids would just be an absolute waste of time.
