Of course, those sequels never happened. The problem was that people may have gone to see Eragon, but they didn't like it. Fans of the books hated it – and critics weren't too kind either. It currently scores 16% from 126 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
Fortunately, Disney has announced its intention to reboot the franchise with a TV show, which can now learn from the mistakes of the original film. Paolini's Inheritance Cycle is highly entertaining, and though its high fantasy setting will present some adaptation challenges, Disney has the resources to do it right.
The acting in Eragon was a common point of criticism from audiences and critics alike. Many of the sequences came off as generic or corny, and the actors simply did not seem invested in the story. They learn to rely on each other to the point where they are able to accomplish a near-impossible task together: killing a Shade. By the last book of the series, Arya has begun to share Eragon's feelings. She wants to marry him.
At the end of the final novel, she is willing to consider Eragon as a romantic partner, but he leaves before they can begin a relationship. She shows this by telling her true name to Eragon, which she refused to do before.
With Murtagh and the soldiers gone, Eragon was able to marry Katrina and Roran. His wedding gift to them was a pair of golden rings that enabled them to sense the others' presence and safety, as well as Eragon's horse given to him by Brom, Snowfire.

Parents need to know that Murtagh is the fifth book in the Inheritance Cycle that started with the uber-popular dragon fantasy, Eragon. It can be read as a standalone novel, even though it takes place a year after the fall of the king in Book 4, Inheritance, and stars Eragon's half-brother Murtagh.

The lines were mediocre and no one other than Brom, Eragon and Saphira had ten lines. Murtagh had like eight or nine lines through the whole movie, Nasuada and Ajihad had like two or three (and Nasuada doesn't say who she is) and Hrothgar had maybe one or two lines. They completely rushed the movie too quickly.
Eragon does not marry anyone in The Inheritance Cycle, even though plenty of women would love to have a Rider as a husband. He is only interested in Arya, the princess of the elves, and she refuses to wed him.

It's been 20 years since readers first took flight with the blue dragon Saphira in the pages of Christopher Paolini's Eragon. But though the original four-book fantasy series concluded with 2011's Inheritance, Paolini isn't finished with the world of Alagaësia.

Katrina Ismirasdaughter was a villager from Carvahall; who was the daughter of Sloan and Ismira, and the granddaughter of Alden. She joined the Varden and married Roran.
They do fall for each other in the end but they never end up getting together. You should keep on till the last book, Inheritance, because that's when the "friendship to love" thing happens between Murtagh and Nasuada.
