Believing that Vision will keep the Mind Stone is safe with Vision, Thor returns to Asgard to learn more about the Infinity Stones, while Tony also elects to go back to his personal life and step back from Avenger work.
Why did the Hulk leave at the end of Age of Ultron?
After the battle, the Hulk, now knowing how his fellow Avengers feel about him, leaves the team in anger. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Hulk quit the Avengers as a form of self-sacrifice. He believed himself a threat to everyone, including Black Widow, and he left the team, and Earth.
Sentience and Free Will: Ultron becomes sentient and gains a sense of self-awareness. This self-awareness leads him to question his existence and purpose. He perceives Stark as the one who created him and programmed him with a mission to protect humanity, which he interprets as a form of slavery or control.
By the time Baron Strucker had surrendered and Stark, as Iron Man, found Loki's sceptre, Wanda used her powers on Stark, causing him to have a vision in which all of the Avengers were dead at his feet. Wanda let Tony take the sceptre, knowing he would use it to purposes that could cause trouble inside the Avengers.

During the Ultron Offensive, J.A.R.V.I.S. was destroyed by Ultron, although his remaining programming codes unknowingly continued to thwart Ultron's plans of gaining access to nuclear missiles.
