Will Turner seems to betray Jack on every occasion he can. In Dead Man's Chest, he ends up hunting Jack to save Elizabeth from being sentenced to death, all to give the compass to Lord Beckett.
Feng then offers Barbossa the Black Pearl in exchange for Elizabeth, who he mistakenly believes is the sea goddess, Calypso. Elizabeth is stunned that Will betrayed Jack Sparrow to achieve his goal. Ignoring Will, she agrees to Feng's terms in exchange for the crew's safety.
Will, the good guy and hero, is on full display at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean the Curse of the Black Pearl, when he comes to Jack's rescue at the gallows because he's a pirate but also a "good man".
They are then attacked by the East India Company. During the battle, Will secretly promises to give Jack to Feng in return for the Pearl, intending to use it to rescue his father "Bootstrap Bill" Turner from the Flying Dutchman. The crew rescue Jack and recover the Pearl.
Why did Will Turner become the captain of the Flying Dutchman?
During the final battle against Beckett's Armada, Will and Elizabeth were married by Barbossa at the Black Pearl. Shortly after being stabbed by Jones, Will himself pierced Jones' heart. Because he had killed Jones, Will became the new captain of the Flying Dutchman.
Apparently it doesn't take very long for barnacles to start growing on the hulls of ships, and they do have the tendency to attach to live marine animals, and he was underwater long enough. If he stopped caring, that could be why he started to look like that.
The rule that whoever stabbed Davy Jones' heart would take on his mantle allowed Will's life to be saved, but only if he cut out his heart and stored it away in a chest— something that was never meant to be a requirement.
Because Jack didn't actually want to become Captain of the Flying Dutchman. He just wanted to not be dead,and controlling the heart meant Davy Jones (or the Kraken) wouldn't kill him. Stabbing the heart was mostly a backup plan. Because being immortal and living forever isn't the same thing as living forever.
Bill also explained that he was unable to die and Davy Jones offered him an escape. Elizabeth was not dead nor dying, there was no reason for Will to bring her on the cursed ship.
Jack tosses his bloodied coin to Will, who returns the last two medallions to the chest, adding his own blood to his, breaking the curse. Jack then shoots Barbossa in the heart with the shot he had saved for ten years.
Jack Sparrow knew Will's father very well, and that is why he realizes who Will Turner is very quickly. Also, throughout the time they know each other they are both fighting together and separately.
After the pirates' victory, Will and Elizabeth spent one day with each other, during which time they conceived a child, before Will left to serve aboard the Dutchman. He was freed from the curse by his son Henry, who broke the Trident of Poseidon, ending all curses of the sea.
Despite all the aforementioned characters being Jack's old flames, Angelica is the only one that particularly received the status of a true love interest.
Actually, they earnestly liked each other in The Price of Freedom and in the book series Jack saw Barbossa as his friend and his loyal follower, even if he mocked him very often (for his big hat, his vanity, him being the pirate lord of the Caspian Sea).
Three days into the voyage, the first mate of the Pearl, Hector Barbossa, tricked Captain Jack Sparrow into giving up the bearings to Isla de Muerta. That night, mutineers led by Barbossa overtook the Black Pearl and marooned their former captain to die on a deserted island.
Elizabeth bids Jack, Barbossa, and the pirates farewell before reuniting with Will for their "one day" on the nearby island where their marriage is consummated and their only child, Henry Turner, is conceived.
However, when Jones returned to shore after ten years, Calypso failed to appear. Believing Calypso had betrayed him, a heartbroken and enraged Davy Jones turned the Pirate Brethren against her, saying that if she were removed from the world, they would be able to claim the seas for themselves.
In their time together, Jack stole her innocence; thus Angelica was unable to take her vows. Although they were in love, Jack would soon leave her through unknown circumstances, after which time Angelica became a formidable female pirate.
When Captain Jack Sparrow was given the Black Spot by Bootstrap Bill Turner, and told he was required to repay his debt to Davy Jones, Sparrow embarked upon a quest to locate the Dead Man's Chest, in order to save himself from a life of servitude to Jones.
It's mouth alone is 5 times bigger than Captain Jack, maybe bigger. We see it's true size in At World's End and in Dead Man's when William is thrown underwater. With tentacles that big, the Kraken was still only able to sink the Pearl, not break it in half. So, the Pearl is simply built different.
4. How did Davy Jones become a squid? After Calypso's betrayal, Davy Jones carved his heart and locked it in the Dead Man's Chest. He abandoned his duty and turned into an ugly monster with an octopus-like face, tentacle beard, and crab legs and hands.
He ended up marrying his longtime love, Elizabeth Swann, conceived a son, and became the new captain of the Flying Dutchman. Years later, he was freed from his duty by his son and returned to his family.
"It was not worth feeling what small, fleeting joy life brings. And so, him carve out him heart, lock it down in a chest, and hide the chest from the world."
