The first few days on the island, Jack sees his father on the island and is certain that he's hallucinating from fatigue. Locke (Terry O'Quinn), a fellow crash survivor, refers to Jack's hallucinations as the "white rabbit" and convinces him to follow them.
Soon... Like Charlie visited Hugo and told him that, Christian appeared to Jack to remember that he must return to the Island (same thing in the Kahana). Christian in the Island is the Man in black and outside the Island is the real Christian (an apparition). It could have been Jack hallucinating.
And although the real Christian Shephard did wind up accompanying Jack and the others into the afterlife in Lost's ending, he had no actual involvement in the events that transpired on the island.
It seems that everything that happened on the Island is happening in LAX-timeline too, so maybe it was just to highlight the way the characters will ultimately end up in the same places - ie in their relationships with each other. Jack's dad's body ended up on the sunken island during the flight when the plane shook.

He began to believe in fate and destiny. When Juliet asked Jack why he eventually did return to the island, Jack told her "because I was supposed to". Jack's faith leads him to sacrifice himself to prevent the island's destruction.

The cabin was built by the Dharma Initiative mathematician Horace Goodspeed as a sort of retreat for himself and his wife. It is surrounded by a broken ash circle. While at first it is believed that Jacob resides there, it is actually the Man in Black in the cabin, falsely giving orders on behalf of Jacob.
She tells Jack about her affair with his father and their daughter, Claire, causing Jack to finally realise his relation to Claire. Claire herself learned of this sometime during the three years she spent alone on the Island, as, upon Jack's return, she greeted him as "my brother".
This, in fact, is the Man in Black impersonating a random person. He manipulates Locke, saying: 'Help me. ' While Ben and John fully believe it is Jacob, this leads John to believe he has to help Jacob.
