The main conflict of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse centers around Miles Morales' refusal to experience the same fate of every other Spider-Man, which leads Miguel O'Hara a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099 to chase down Miles in order to keep the multiverse safe from collapse.

Spider-Man 2099's powers don't include "spider-sense" like Peter Parker or Miles Morales, but instead has enhanced senses like vision, just like a spider, which may explain his red eyes. Spider-Man 2099 is certainly not a vampire, as his fangs can simply be explained by the fact that spiders themselves have fangs.
Earth-1610, which Miles is from, was still supposed to have a Peter Parker, but instead, Miles was accidentally bitten by Earth-42's radioactive spider, and Peter died protecting Miles. Earth-1610's canon changed and Earth-42 was sans a Spider-Man. Miles is the original anomaly, as Miguel puts it.
In Marvel Comics, before he turns into Spider-Man, Miguel becomes addicted to an extremely powerful drug known as Rapture. Rapture, which binds to the user's DNA, was the reason why Miguel performed a genetic experiment on himself – he wanted to break free of the Rapture addiction.
Miles' eagerness to be a hero is both his strength and weakness; it propels his desire to grow and assist others but also makes him prone to danger and reluctant to accept help. Miles also dislikes being a victim or receiving pity.
His frustration toward Miles came from a place of sadness. Within Miles, he sees the same motivation that made him lose his daughter. When Miguel says, “You can't save everyone,” it is not because he wants to hurt Miles. It's because he does not want Miles to end up as broken and jaded as he is.

In the beginning, when Spot's out of control, he ends up in his own little pocket dimension without any spots. Then, when he recreates a Collider and starts traveling from dimension to dimension, he becomes all black when the spots overtake his body, transforming into an abyss-like character.
After having half of his DNA re-written with the genetic code of a spider, Miguel develops a wide array of powers. He has the proportionate strength, speed, and agility of a spider. His speed allows him to dodge gunfire from a short distance away and move several times faster than a normal human being can.
But as it turns out, Miguel's “hatred” for Miles runs much deeper than Miles being a bit of a rule-breaker. Miguel explains that Miles is an anomaly, which makes it that much harder for Miguel to protect the fabric of the multiverse.
Miguel has an enhanced fast-healing metabolism, and enhanced sensory acuity enabling him to see in the dark, at great distances, and track fast-moving objects clearly; however, he is more sensitive to light than normal humans. Outside of his spider DNA, Miguel is a highly skilled geneticist.
Hailey Cooper is a recurring original supporting character in Marvel's Spider-Man series, first appeared in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. As of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, she becomes Miles Morales' love interest.
MIles also tussles with his fair share of other baddies as well. He fights Omega Red, Kangaroo, Dr. Conrad Marcus, AKA Venom, and Norman Osborn, AKA Green Goblin as well as Quentin Beck, AKA Mysterio, from another reality, that of Earth-616.
His relationship with Bishop apparently did not occur in this continuity, as Miles begins seeing classmate Barbara Rodriguez, whom he calls his "first serious girlfriend", who is unaware of his double life.
