Thanos never cared much for Nebula, even going so far as to say in Guardians of the Galaxy that Gamora was his favorite. That could be because, to Thanos, Nebula was nothing more than a means to spare Gamora while still obtaining the Soul Stone.
Thanos captured and tortured Nebula, using her as a bargaining tool to force Gamora to reveal the location of the Soul Stone. Nebula managed to escape and regrouped with the Guardians and the Avengers on Titan, during their battle against Thanos, before she realized that he killed Gamora to get the Stone.
Unfortunately, Nebula was instead captured and tortured, and forced to reveal the fact that Gamora knows the location of the Soul Stone. Intent on possessing all six Infinity Stones and “balancing” the universe, Thanos threatened to tear Nebula apart.
Nebula's feelings on the death of Thanos are understandable, especially with the way Gillan broke it down in her quote. Despite his abusive nature, the Mad Titan was the only parent figure that the character has had for a long time.
However, Red Skull saw his true intentions, informing Gamora that Thanos was, in fact, weeping for Gamora, as he truly loved her as a daughter, and was heartbroken that he had to sacrifice her to get the Soul Stone. Disbelieving, Gamora could not comprehend that Thanos ever showed genuine love for her.
As proven by Thanos sacrificing Gamora, he's a being capable of love. While he may not have had affection for Nebula in her adult years, her growth and ability to fight with 100 percent of herself every time were enough for him to pay attention to her and try and "help" her to ensure she never lost again.
Thanos eventually realizes that all the trouble he went for in the snap: Killing Gamora, Killing Asgard's population, and ruining lives, have been for nothing. Thanos commits to finding a solution to reverse the snap. He starts to repair the gauntlet and confronts the Avengers.
That's because when 2014 Nebula traveled to the future on Thanos' orders, she created a split timeline. Thus these are two different Nebulas who exist on two different timelines.

Additionally, their origins are brutally similar as both of them experienced intense trauma via involuntary experimentation/modification, though Nebula admits Rocket's abuse at the hands of the High Evolutionary was far worse than anything Thanos ever did to her.
As a youth, Nebula grew up in a torturous environment created by Thanos. Having the Mad Titan as a parental figure would have been bad enough, but she was also constantly compared to her surrogate sister Gamora. Thanos openly favored Gamora, which drove Nebula mad with jealous rage.
It turns out that Nebula star Karen Gillan very much believes that Nebula does have a little crush on Peter Quill, and during a recent interview with The New York Times, director James Gunn expanded on that a bit and believes that there could be something there.
But what we do know for sure is that Nebula is a Luphomoid. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Luphomoids are a humanoid race notable for having blue and/or purple colored skin. Although, Nebula had some of her limbs replaced with various robotic parts after getting severely injured while Thanos was training her.
Director James Gunn confirmedOpens in a new tab that Nebula “took a trip to earth and tore it off his [Bucky's] body because she was feeling so Christmasy.” Although we have no doubt Nebula can beat Bucky in a fight, we much prefer a vision where Bucky lends her a spare arm for Rocket.
When Gamora finally does confront Thanos, she believes for a moment that she's killed him and breaks down, crying. An orange light passes over her--but it's fleeting. Whatever love Gamora has for Thanos is all but smothered by darkness.
Nebula never knew that the cost of the soul stone was to lose whom you love most. All she knew was that Thanos went to Vormiir with Gamora and she wasn't with him when he left.
Unlike the main Gamora, who was killed in Avengers: Infinity War, this Gamora was plucked from her timeline and stranded in this universe. Because she does not have a history with the Guardians, she does not reunite with them at the end of Endgame.
In the movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," it is revealed that Peggy Carter has children and Steve Rogers is their father. The writers of "Avengers: Endgame" confirmed that Steve is the father of Peggy's children and that they likely have super soldier DNA.
Later in the film, Thanos manages to capture his other adopted daughter, Gamora, and uses the sisters against one another. In order to get Gamora to divulge the location of the Soul Stone, he tortures Nebula right in front of Gamora.
Early life. Nebula is one of several children forcibly adopted by Thanos. After he killed her family, she was raised alongside Gamora and trained to be a warrior. Thanos often forced them to fight and Gamora was always victorious.
Another prevalent argument is that the God of Thunder was simply too exhausted at that point, having used all of his energy fighting Hela in Thor: Ragnarok.
Although in Endgame, they found and killed Thanos 2 weeks after he snapped half the Universe from existence,It would be another 5 years before they were able to Snap everyone back.
