Malfoy hated all the attention Harry recieved . Malfoy thought Harry was a dark wizard, he tried to befriend Harry but he refused because of the way Malfoy treated Ron whom he already made friends with. That's why Malfoy hate Harry for turning him down.
Draco and Harry's rivalry began when Harry rejected Draco's offer of friendship, who saw Harry's fame as a way to boost his own social status. Jealousy played a big role in Draco's hatred towards Harry, as Draco resented Harry's talent, popularity, and close circle of friends and caring family.

Draco may have been the epitome of evil for a long time in the Harry Potter series, but things turned around for the better. Even still in adulthood, Draco has the ability to affect the world negatively, but he no longer acts on it as he used to, or as his father did.
He didn't want to make Harry uncomfortable; after all, they live together, eat together, work together and even share ownership of a temperamental cat. Harry just laughs, “I'm in love with you too, you git.” Draco kisses him, putting years worth of pent-up longing into one moment.
