Frozen 2: Better Journey For Elsa Frozen 2 shows that Elsa is still feeling lost, even after claiming her title as Queen of Arendelle. She doesn't know who she really is and who she is meant to be. Her incredible journey of self-acceptance, and as the Fifth Spirit, is truly a sight to behold in the Disney canon.
The thin plot didn't hold up to scrutiny, and even the songs didn't live up to the ubiquitous "Let It Go." Despite this, Frozen 2 went on to make $1.450 billion worldwide, compared to the $1.280 billion of the first movie. So why did Frozen 2 beat Frozen at the box office?
"Frozen II" is funny, exciting, sad, romantic, and silly. It has great songs and a hilarious recap of the first movie, and then it is all of that all over again. Plus an extra scene ALL the way at the end of the credits.
Let it be Elsa, Anna, Olaf or Kristoff they were never afraid of expressing the emotion. There will be times when you are scared, angry or just upset and its ok to speak about it. Everyone is strong in their own way but its ok to break down once in a while.
Sadly, “Frozen 2” did not live up to expectations. It disappointed not only me, but plenty of other fans. “Frozen 2” takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, including Olaf's amazing singing skills, the plot was nothing compared to the original. Small incidents were made into huge deals, which was unnecessary.
Despite Disney's best efforts across the board, Frozen 2 ended up being a disappointment compared to the original Frozen. In some ways, this was inevitable. Frozen was a monster hit in 2013, becoming the highest-grossing film of the year and highest-grossing animated film ever at that time.
The film covers deep and heavy topics unknown to Disney princess films. The first Frozen broke the Disney formula by sharing “true love” doesn't need to be romantic. The second film addresses loss, grief, depression, and how to find hope and personal growth through life's uncertainties.
Although Frozen's greatest difficulty for Frozen was the winter snow, Frozen II is set in fall; its main challenge was how to consistently depict the wind and "pass that downstream". Frozen II's animation software was influenced by the software in several other Disney films.
It was after that the decision was made to fully commit to the voice calling to Elsa being that of her mother, Iduna. As Marc Smith, Frozen 2's Director of Story, notes in the documentary, the idea "unifies the movie" since it starts with a flashback featuring Iduna and Agnarr, and it brings those elements together.
It's finally happening: Disney is plotting a return the return of Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff in Frozen 3. Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that a third Frozen movie was currently in development during a year-end earnings call in February 2023.
Because of the kingdom's negative feelings towards the Northuldra, Iduna kept her heritage a secret for many years, though she finally told him everything shortly before their deaths. Agnarr and Iduna's oldest daughter (Elsa) was born with the power to control ice and snow.
(Note: Much of Frozen 2 appears to be a reaction to the reaction the first film received for not including many people of color and for “whitewashing.” The problem with how Frozen 2 handled this is that they really couldn't up and change the race of the lead characters, so instead they just had them retroactively ...
The studio reports Frozen 2 is now the highest grossing animated release globally of all time with estimated earnings at $1.325 billion, beating records set by its predecessor Frozen ($1.281 billion) and Incredibles 2 ($1.243 billion).
Frozen 2 picks up a few years after the first movie, with Anna and Elsa living happily in Arendelle. After Elsa hears the call of the "unknown,", she and Anna explore the wider world to find out the source of Elsa's spiritual powers.
It makes them think they can defy the will of a king! Runeard voicing his disapproval of magic. King Runeard is the posthumous main antagonist of Disney's 2019 animated feature film, Frozen II. He was the ruler of Arendelle, and the father of King Agnarr.
So, even though the mission of Frozen 2 was to explain the lore of Elsa and Arendelle, large chunks of this backstory were cut from the film by Disney. What is left is a confusing, hard-to-follow mess that feels less like a compelling story and more like a YouTube explainer video.
Olaf appears in the sequel Frozen II, where he no longer needs a permanent snow flurry, as he is now made of permafrost, and enjoys being able to freely bask in the sun year-round. Now three years old, Olaf is slightly more intelligent and mature.
Although Elsa's disability is encoded as a magical ice power, the language the film uses to talk about her condition maps on to the experiences of people with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities in recognizable ways.
When Anna finds out Elsa's alive. If you're the type who cries during happy moments just as much as you do during the heartbreaking ones, you'll probably tear up when Anna and Elsa reunite toward the end of the movie.
Frozen 2 - Anna was afraid of losing what she made, leaving her alone and unloved. She becomes reckless with her relationship with Kristoff, overthinking everything he says. She also becomes overprotective of Elsa, forcing herself into being by her side as much as she can.
Frozen contains some scenes of action violence and peril, some accidental injury, implied death and occasional threats of violence. For example: As a young girl, Anna is accidentally hit in the head by a bolt of her sister's magic. This leaves her unconscious with a white streak in her hair where she was hit.
