This is due to two reasons – Dumbledore believed in Muggle rights which contradicted Malfoy's pure blood beliefs. In addition, Lucius was a Death Eater, so he believed that Lord Voldemort was a much more powerful wizard than Dumbledore.
The once dreaded and feared Lucius Malfoy, a former loyal follower of Lord Voldemort, had found a new purpose in life. He had decided to pledge his loyalty to Harry Potter, the one who had defeated the Dark Lord. Lucius had always admired power, and Harry's victory over Voldemort had proved his strength.
The Malfoys gained a reputation for their pure-blood supremacy and heritage. During the First and Second Wizarding Wars, they supported Lord Voldemort and some members were even Death Eaters under his command.
Ultimately, his need to survive and protect his family would lead Lucius to betray Voldemort. With the Dark Lord defeated, he and his wife Narcissa turned in every Death Eater they could to avoid being imprisoned in Azkaban.
Lucius Malfoy appeared weak because he was under the constant strain under Lord Voldemort. His son had already failed him in not having enough courage to kill Dumbledore and also, his family's life and his were under constant threat of death as they didn't search for Lord Voldemort when he was not fully functional.
Lucius joined Voldemort and the Death Eaters, using his wealth and influence to support their cause. He was given the task of hiding the Horcrux diary in Malfoy Manor, but ultimately lost favor with Voldemort due to his failure to follow orders.
When Lucius turns on Voldemort due to the reveal of his Horcruxes, Narcissa divorces him, taking 75% of Malfoy's wealth with her. Even her relationship with Draco is different, with POS-Narcissa only viewing Draco as a tool to further her own agenda.
Rowling commented that "The moment Draco got what he thought he wanted, to become a Death Eater, and given a mission by Lord Voldemort, as he did in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, reality finally hit him" because his dream was "so very different".
He didn't know about her true status. Voldemort wanted to be above human (but he wasn't and his death symbolises that) and Bellatrix was the most humanising thing for him, his greatest pressure point, which isn't something he would like for everyone to know, especially his archenemy.
Delphini was born in secret at Malfoy Manor in early March 1998 as the result of a liaison between Bellatrix Lestrange and Lord Voldemort. On 2 May 1998, both of her biological parents were killed in the Battle of Hogwarts.
There was not a single Dark Wizard who wasn't a Slytherin, according to Hagrid, the brain of Gryffindor. But we don't know where many Death Eaters came from. Peter Pettigrew was a Gryffindor, and Barty Crouch Jr was a Ravenclaw (most probably).
What happened to the Malfoys after Voldemort died?
The Malfoys are able to avoid serving time in Azkaban, as they provide evidence that helps the Ministry track down the Death Eaters who had fled after the war. It is also probable that, since Narcissa's lie to Voldemort saved Harry's life, the family is pardoned for their crimes.
She married Rodolphus Lestrange after leaving Hogwarts "because it was expected of her" to marry a pure-blood. However, Rowling stated in an interview that Bellatrix truly loved Voldemort.
Family. Snape's family background is mostly shown in flashbacks during the course of the last three novels. Snape was born to Eileen Prince, a witch, and Tobias Snape, a Muggle, making him a half-blood (hence the name, "Half-Blood Prince").
In his memoir, Felton said that Fiennes improvised Voldemort awkwardly hugging Draco Malfoy. "It gave me goosebumps then, and the memory gives me goosebumps now," Felton wrote.

Though Hagrid's wand was snapped and he was expelled, he was trained as gamekeeper of Hogwarts and allowed to live on the school grounds at the request of Albus Dumbledore. In 1991, Hagrid was given the task of reintroducing Harry Potter to the wizarding world.
Later life. Lucius and Draco's crimes were forgiven due to their abandonment of Voldemort and his cause and Narcissa's lie to the Dark Lord that saved Harry Potter's life in the Forbidden Forest in the Battle of Hogwarts. None of them served time in Azkaban.
Narcissa and her husband, Lucius Malfoy, were shown to have an affectionate and loving relationship. He gave in to her wishes when she wanted their son to attend Hogwarts, rather than Durmstrang.
Why is it a big deal that Voldemort took Lucius wand?
After being released, Lucius regained the wand, but it was taken by Lord Voldemort in order to solve Voldemort's problem with his and Harry Potter's wand sharing the same core. The wand was destroyed during the Battle of the Seven Potters while in Voldemort's possession.
