In The Matrix, being The One meant that Neo could perceive the Matrix simulation in a way that no other human could. Not only that, but The One would also have the ability to bend the Matrix simulation code, meaning that The One would not have to answer to any of the rules inside the Matrix, such as gravity.
Neo has carried, since his conception, the Matrix's source code known as the Prime Program. This gives him the ability to freely manipulate the simulated reality of the Matrix, similar to the authority a system administrator has over a given system. He manifests these abilities as various superhuman powers.

The things Neo could do inside the matrix were unique, unlike anyone else of his generation. That was until The Matrix Resurrections, which bestowed the powers of The One onto Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss).

1 Trinity Is At Least As Powerful As Neo, If Not More
The fact that Trinity now possesses powers identical to those of the One implies that the real Prime Program is the nexus of emotion between her and Neo, and not just the latter.

When Neo finally meets Trinity at a club, she tells him about Morpheus, and that Morpheus wanted to see him. At work the next day Neo receives a package from Morpheus, a cell phone, through which Morpheus helps him evade the "agents" who have come looking for him in his office.
By going blind, Neo obtains a "third eye" through which he can perceive the true nature of things, instead of being fooled by their external appearances. It is this true sight that guides him through the climax of the series and allows him to defeat Agent Smith.
The purpose of showing Neo dropping bald and naked in his pod is to liken him to a newborn. Neo's life only truly begins after being unplugged from the Matrix, and this is represented by his clinical, hairless appearance at the start.
Essentially, the process of being resurrected and reuploaded into the Matrix (and coded all over again whenever he tried to escape) has quashed Neo's One powers.
