One of the best reasons Hagrid is a good friend to Harry is that he never judged Harry for where he came from or who he is. He never shamed Harry for his past or belittled him for his lack of magic knowledge.

J.K. Rowling says Draco doesn't have a patronus because he never learned the spell but I think it's because he doesn't have any powerful happy memories to use.
