History. On 8 March 1996, Hogwarts High Inquisitor Dolores Umbridge and Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge signed Sybill Trelawney's Order of Dismissal, due to her inadequate performance.
During Dolores Umbridge's time at Hogwarts, Sybill Trelawney's qualifications as a Divination Professor were put to the test harder than ever, resulting in Umbridge firing Trelawney from her position.
She was finally reinstated to her teaching position after Umbridge was suspended. This meant that, since Dumbledore could not ask Firenze to return to the herd that tried to kill him, she would have to share classes with Professor Firenze, a fact she was not pleased with.
After Voldemort was sighted in the Ministry of Magic by numerous people including Fudge, Dumbledore was reinstated as Headmaster at Hogwarts, and Umbridge was sacked.
Despite the fact that even the professors mocked her, Professor Dumbledore kept Sybill Trelawney around because she occasionally gave accurate, crucial prophecies. While many of Professor Trelawney's predictions in Harry Potter came true, there is no doubt that the prophecies she delivered unknowingly were correct.

Why did Umbridge get rid of Trelawny?

Why? Yes, she thought Professor Trelawney was a bit of a fraud and the subject was useless…but it seemed that what she couldn't cope with was not being amazing at a subject straight away. Trelawney expressed that she didn't have what it takes and rather than try to prove her wrong, Hermione believed her and gave up.
Born in the late 1920s to Muggle parents, Myrtle Warren started her Hogwarts life in the early 1940s, where she was sorted into Ravenclaw. She had no friends, and was bullied relentlessly because of her glasses and acne. But she would soon have all of eternity to get her own back.

Trelawney is the descendant of the great seer Cassandra Trelawney. While it might seem like a throwaway line, it probably refers to the Greek prophet Cassandra. In the Greek story, the god Apollo fell in love with Cassandra and gave her the gift of prophecy.
Dumbledore intervenes to allow Trelawney to stay in the castle, as he believes that she would be in danger outside Hogwarts due to the prophecy she made during her interview, and recruits Firenze from the centaur herd in the Forbidden Forest to replace her as a way of spiting Umbridge.
In turn, Umbridge acts in the open, from a position of power, being the Minister of Magic's right hand. She's not a Death Eater masquerading as a government official — she's just an awful person taking advantage of being in a top position.

Peeves is a poltergeist, not a ghost, so he never died and was never a living person. A poltergeist in the Harry Potter universe is just a tangible manifestation of chaos/mischief. In Peeve's case, he's the manifestation of the chaos that results when you have a large group of students in one building.
But the primary red flag for most is the age gap between the actors, as Myrtle's Shirley Henderson was in her 30s while Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe was barely a teenager. Book Hermione wasn't rude to Luna. She was simply skeptical of Luna's views, which Luna believed without supporting evidence, and Hermione openly expressed her opinions, which everyone has a right to do.
Hermione also knew that her parents, and anyone else she associated with, would be in serious danger because of her friendship with Harry. And so, she chose to erase herself from her parents' minds.
