Monolith Productions, the studio behind Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its sequel Middle-earth: Shadow of War — the last two big, well-received console titles — is currently developing a Wonder Woman game, meaning it is very unlikely to also be making a third Middle-earth entry.
Shadow of Mordor's online servers were shuttered on January 12, 2021, and a final update for the game removed some features that were tied to this, including the game's Vendetta system and leaderboards.
Shadow of War is the sequel to 2014's Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, both of which are based on J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium. The game is set in between the events of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings film trilogies, from which the game also takes inspiration.

These games aren't canon. But they're also based more on the movie setting than the books, which isn't considered canon either. Just an alternate retelling. The only stuff considered canon is the books and Lord of the Rings Online funnily enough.
The Fourth Age began once Sauron was vanquished and the One Ring destroyed. The Shire and the kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor were restored. It marked the ascent of Men and the final diminishing of the Elves. Gandalf, Elrond, Galadriel, Bilbo and Frodo sailed for the Undying Lands, as had most Elves on Middle-earth.
When focusing on the main objectives, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is about 15½ Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 32½ Hours to obtain 100% completion.
Can you keep playing after beating Shadow of Mordor?
You can continue playing after finishing the main story. All side quests/collect/nemesis stuff remains available, nothing changes after last mission. Yes it is. You can continue to run around hunt/brand Captains and Warchiefs to your hearts content.
However, the power of the One quickly began to corrupt Celebrimbor as he continued to use it, to where his initial desire to save his family became twisted into a desire to avenge them, as he believed they had been slain, refusing Sauron's offer to release them if he returned the Ring, so much so that even Sauron noted ...
His importance in not only the events of Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, but in the fate of the whole land as well, cements his status as an integral LotR character. He may technically be non-canon, but many fans feel that he deserves to be recognized as a canon character.
The Nemesis System might not be familiar to everyone, considering it hasn't had widespread usage for a multitude of reasons. However, its future is looking promising, with a major upcoming title building the mechanic into its concept, ensuring that players will be able to see how that initial idea has evolved.

All you need to grind through the final sieges of Shadow of War and get the hidden ending. The Shadow Wars are what you'll find as Shadow of War's endgame - a series of increasingly tricky sieges laid out for you with a reward at the end.
Weta, the effects studio that worked on Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings series, has a video game division, too, and it's working on a Lord of the Ring game. The game is called Tales of the Shire, and it looks wonderful. The game is set for release in 2024.
Unlike in the books, Celebrimbor doesn't appear to be an innocent pawn in Sauron's plan to create evil and unleash it upon the world. In fact, it seems as though he is the mastermind at work here, and the driving force of evil and greed that makes the rings so corrupted in the fist place.
So no, it isn't canon. Yeah its not inconsistent per se, but only because there's a lot of room during the period of time the game takes place in, its a 'what if' scenario filled out with a lot of content and creatures created by Monolith exclusively for the game.

The Elves felt compelled to leave Middle-earth because the Valar (deities of Tolkien's world) were spiritually summoning them to their ultimate destinies. The Valar saw the Elves as a race above the others, and thought that they would fare better if they lived in the Blessed Realm (also known as Aman) with the Valar.
Dwarves: They were too stubborn to be dominated directly, but the rings inflamed their greed to the point where they would not willingly give away their rings, and certainly not once Sauron started making war on them.
