The writing in this movie is just plain phenomenal, and the comedy: golden. However, Deadpool is not for kids. While this film does have an incredible story, amazing writing and fantastic acting, its also VERY mature in almost every aspect.
Even here the shots are quite brief so the focus on the detail is minimal and the infliction of pain is not dwelt upon – keeping it firmly within the 15 category. It is also worth noting here the comic tone of this and many other violent sequences.
It integrates Deadpool with the MCU and is expected to retain the R-rating of the previous films, the first MCU film to have such a rating. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin joined in November 2020 as writers.
Despite the edits, the British Board of Film Classification rated Once Upon a Deadpool with a 15 certificate, the same as had been given to the original release of Deadpool 2.

Director David Leitch's film really earns its R rating, with a nearly non-stop cavalcade of gory violence, harsh language and crass sexual humor. The red-suited Marvel character may look like a lot of fun – and in Ryan Reynolds' expert comic hands, he definitely is – but he's also not for kids.
This movie is not for them. Don't be that parent to have their 10 year old go through strong bloody violence [which there are a lot of] and a sex scene montage [which is really funny], because they really wanna see it.
Is Deadpool appropriate for 14 year old kids? I would not take most kids under the age of 13 to see this film for reasons cited by the MPAA: Rated R for strong violence and language throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity.
We're not talking about sex, though Logan does get flashed. There are mature storylines and themes of depression, death, aging and love. This is a movie that will make grown men cry, but might go over the heads of young boys.
