The new reigning queen of scary dolls rips a mean kid's ear off in the latest teaser for the Universal/Blumhouse horror-comedy, out this weekend after months of viral anticipation.
I understand that some kids are more sensitive to other things and that's why common sense made the little things seem big. I said 12+ but really it doesn't matter. If you think you or your kid are mature enough to handle swearing or violence then I say go for it.
It's now been revealed that the film, which is PG-13 in the US , was originally designed to be more graphic, but had some gory content erased in an attempt to lure in a younger audience – a tactic that has paid off.
M3GAN is a horror, sci-fi movie that shows what could happen if we let Artificial Intelligence take over. The film is very violent and scary and it is therefore not suitable for children aged under 15 years and parental guidance is recommended for children aged 15 years.

Wednesday is rated TV-14 for violence, fear, and profanity, which means it may not be suitable for children under 14 years old. Keep in mind that age ratings are simply suggestions — your child might be able to handle the show before age 14, or you may have a child older than 14 who finds it too scary.
With that said, there are still some horror fans who would've preferred to see M3GAN in all of its R-rated glory before the cuts trimmed it down to a PG-13 rating. Akela Cooper, who co-wrote the script based on a story co-written with Wan, also falls into this category.

A surprisingly effective and clever killer doll film. M3GAN instantly leaves her mark and solidifies herself as a new horror icon. But the real surprise is all the extra layers and ideas about technology, grief, and taking the easy way out.
Aside from much more gore, M3GAN Unrated has a lot more explicit language, particularly from certain angry characters like Gemma's boss David (Ronny Chieng) and Brandon the bully at Cady's camp (Jack Cassidy), and even M3GAN has one F-bomb towards the movie's big climax.
WILL M3GAN BE ON NETFLIX? No, M3GAN will not be available on Netflix — at least not anytime soon, since it will be heading straight to Peacock after its theatrical release.

Is “M3GAN” scary? Honestly, not really. “M3GAN” is, first and foremost, a horror comedy, with its tongue planted firmly in its cheek. Filmmaker Gerard Johnstone knows what he's doing; his first feature was the terrific “Housebound,” which also liberally mixed thrills and laughs.
While the blood and swearing flow in any Chucky movie, M3GAN was hindered a bit by its PG-13 boundaries. The decision to not go for a hard R rating is understandable. M3GAN is meant to be more of a fun horror comedy directed at teens.
M3GAN is not just comedy and horror in one, led by an AI doll that provides extreme loyalty and care for her assigned companion, but it also tackles darker and more serious issues, from the different stages of grief to the shadiness of capitalism, and that alone is worth the praise the movie is getting.

The unrated version of M3GAN has previously unreleased footage, according to Peacock's website. According to The Wrap, Megan: Unrated doesn't have major plot changes or additions, but there is more profanity and gore.
You aren't really missing much with the theatrical version. I watched both, both are good but I definitely prefer the Unrated. Not much difference gore wise (though there is some), mostly just added curse words. Theatrical is more of your standard thriller.
Kids between 8 and 12 are called “tweens” because they are in between children and teenagers. It's very normal for kids this age to start to move from being very close to parents to wanting to be more independent. But they still need a lot of help from their parents. Kids this age go through big physical changes.
People are shown having sex. Sexual images. Characters smoke frequently, drink hard alcohol. Parents need to know that the level of violence is very intense in Squid Game.
