However, Ghostface gains the upper hand and begins to stab her all over her torso. Dewey and Gale notice the mirror moving but they don't find her until she is finally stabbed to death and falls out of one of the shot glasses onto the floor in a pile of broken glass.
Jennifer is ultimately killed by the film's Ghostface, the director of the final Stab film Roman Bridger. Speaking with ComicBook.com, Posey explained that she wishes there was some way for her Scream 3 character to return in a future installment.

To make the impact effective, the film needed to sacrifice its legacy character, who died in the line of duty facing Ghostface, which circles back to Dewey's role since 1996's Scream. Scream also showed that anyone could die to challenge the implications of the central characters being immortal to Ghostface.

Which Ghostface killed Dewey?
One of the few times the killer admits to a specific murder is in 2022's Scream when Amber gloats to Gale about being the one who killed Dewey. As she is the first Ghostface to kill off a legacy character, she cements herself in the pantheon of the franchise's killers.
Undoubtedly! Dewey is a resilient character and has survived injuries in previous Scream movies. If somebody found him in time and got him medical attention, there's a good chance he could have made it.
