Teddy Lupin was raised by his grandmother Andromeda Tonks. He had a better life than Harry had experienced with the Dursleys'. Teddy was loved and spent time with his Godfather, Harry, who treated him like his own son.
He feels that he is toxic to others by sheer presence alone.
