Although Katniss knew the turmoil that came with being a player in the games, she voted in favor of the symbolic games. She claimed that she wanted to avenge Prim, but her decision also allowed her to gain Coin's trust.
The symbolic Hunger Games was only the first of many bad decisions to come down the line, and Katniss only voted yes to make sure Coin didn't become suspicious of her. That Hunger Games did not occur. Technically, Gale is partially responsible for Prim's death.
I got the hint that Katniss never really wanted a new Hunger Games, and that Haymitch only voted yes because he thought Katniss had something up her sleeve.
However, it was never carried out because Katniss assassinated Coin later that day, at what would have been the execution of President Snow. After an emergency election, Commander Paylor became Panem's new president, the Hunger Games were abolished, and all previous arenas were destroyed to make way for memorials.

As hybrid creatures that have broken free of the control of the Capitol, they suggest the inability of the Capitol to enforce their power over all living creatures. What does Peeta's bread symbolize in The Hunger Games?
Peeta shows Katniss all the kind of bread that is in their bread basket. Every district has their own kind of bread. This shows that every district is different and provides variable things. It also demonstrates that the Capitol owns all of the districts.
Snow laughs after Katniss killed Coin because he enjoys the irony of the situation. He avoided the official execution ceremony, even though Panem's citizens still take their revenge on him, while Katniss ends up snatching away the victory and power that Coin thinks she has successfully secured.
Snow can't stand to see a young woman betray a young man's affection—his view of what happened 65 years ago. And so he takes out his old, festering wound on Katniss.
In the end, Katniss and Gale grew apart, as many childhood friends and young loves do. She needed something different in her life, and with Gale's link to Primrose's death, Katniss found a reason to cut ties. If Katniss ever wanted to find comfort again, she knew she had to return to Peeta for the long term.
He knew something was seriously bothering Katniss because she had come to ask for his advice. But his 'boy troubles' comment put her off. So when he said 'I'm with the Mockingjay' it meant that he trusted that the Mockingjay (as the face of the rebellion) would do the right thing for the cause they had both fought for.
In the 75th Hunger Games, Finnick Odair from District 4 had a token that was a gold bangle with a flame pattern. This token was first given to Haymitch Abernathy from Effie Trinket as a sign of them being a team. Haymitch gave it to Finnick to tell Katniss to make him an ally, as he could later help her in the games.
According to the star behind Effie, Elizabeth Banks, she and Haymitch's Woody Harrelson improvised the scene. Considering she's been adamant about the characters having some romantic connection, it only makes sense that they'd share a goodbye kiss. It's very on-brand for Effie, as well.
Peeta decides, though, that he will go out on his own to act as a diversion in case Katniss and the others need it. Gale gives Peeta his nightlock pill in case Peeta's captured. They leave early in the morning, bundled up and styled by Tigris. Cressida and Pollux go first, leading the way to the City Circle.
Before the Capitol battle, Gale had explained to Katniss his series of bombs designed to feed off human compassion: a small bomb would go off, and then when medical aid rushed in, a second bomb would go off, killing those people as well. Incidentally, it's this exact type of bomb that took Prim's life.
Answer and Explanation: Prim is killed by a bomb at the very end of the battle. Alma Coin sees an opportunity to turn the Capitol troops against Snow, and she decides the resulting loss of life from her plan is a worthwhile price to pay.

If Snow could sell his best friend down the river for personal gain, it was only a matter of time until he did the same with her.
Peeta is held back while the other rebels are sent to attack the Capitol, but he is later sent to join them as a member of Katniss's group of sharpshooters, which Katniss suspects is because President Coin sees her as a political rival and wants Peeta to kill her.
