The two parties met each other on the war ridden surface of the planet, where, in an unexpected turn of events, Loki appeared to betray Thor and hand Jane Foster over to Malekith willingly. As Malekith extracted the Aether from Foster's body, Loki's betrayal was revealed to be a ruse.
Believing himself to be the rightful King of Asgard, Loki schemes to undermine the God of Thunder's ascension to the throne, desperate for his father's approval and to be seen as an equal to Thor.
This stemmed from his childhood and the belief that Odin didn't love him. While Odin's hiding of Loki's true parentage and Thor's demeaning behavior may have influenced Loki, ultimately he is to blame for his villainous actions due to his own issues with self-acceptance and misinterpretation of his upbringing.
This interrupted Thor's coronation and was part of Loki's overall plan. He later revealed that he did this simply to mess with his brother Thor on what should have been his big day on Asgard.
This caused Thor to send lightning towards them, toppling the mine on top of them. Loki apologized and confessed, saying he only thought of the challenge to get the Cup and gain as much respect as Thor. His brother forgave him and found a way out of the mine.

Does Loki actually love Thor?
While Loki and Thor did, by heart, truly love each other as brothers, their intention to rule Asgard made them fierce rivals. However, Thor evolved himself by learning that a true leader doesn't start wars or seek to conquer other territories, while Loki sought to control the world and gain more power over others.
Loki says that Odin does a poor job in handing out honor in war to men, and that he's often given victory to the faint-hearted. Odin responds that even if this is true, Loki (in a story otherwise unattested) once spent eight winters beneath the earth as a woman milking cows, and during this time bore children.
Loki did try to fool him at first by swearing loyalty, but Thanos had seen Loki's deceptions before. Loki's plan to kill Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War was flawed at every point, and Marvel poking fun at such a great emotional scene makes the movie even better.
Odin revealed that he wanted to gain a permanent peace between Asgard and Jotunheim by having Loki rule the world of the Frost Giants. Loki was disgusted by his own parentage and claimed that Odin could have never loved him the same way he loved Thor and would have never given him the throne.

By saving and organizing every existing timeline, Loki has become the God of Time — a higher being who keeps the past, present, and future of every universe from being erased by outside forces. However, Loki has also become the God of Stories, as he has placed everybody's personal journey above his own.
Summary. In The Avengers, Loki tried to mind-control both Hawkeye and Iron Man, but while he succeeded with Hawkeye, his attempts failed on Iron Man due to his arc reactor. Iron Man's arc reactor protected him from Loki's scepter, as the scepter needed to touch organic matter to work, and the arc reactor was not skin.
Loki sacrificed himself to save everyone on every timeline. He also saved the TVA, a place people can now choose to serve freely. Some like Mobius opted to leave the TVA behind and go home. Others decided to stay because the TVA still serves an important purpose.
In the Marvel Universe, Odin is basically the Superman of Asgardians. Whatever Thor can do, he can do better—there's a reason it's not called the "Thor Force."
Now Odin did tell Thor he was stronger then him (Odin) which some interpret as Odin meaning Thor is stronger than Odin cause Thor now has his fathers power plus his own. But we have to remember two things. Odin himself said Mjølnir only channeled Thor's power, Thor just needed to learn to use it naturally.
When Sylvie kicked Loki through the Time Door he went to the same TVA's own past. That's why Mobius and B-15 didn't recognize him at the end of season one. That's also why Loki saw those massive statues. Earlier in the TVA's history He Who Remains did not hide his identity behind robot Time-Keepers.
The spell was permanent, making it so Loki only reverted to having blue skin when touching a Frost Giant or one of their artifacts. Since Loki's appearance was a spell, not just an illusion, it could not be broken or reversed by Odin's death.
What did Loki realize when he saw the Infinity Stones?
Secretly, he has to know that the Stone had bested him. He, Loki, God of Mischief, brilliant trickster, hadn't been strong or clever enough to not be affected by the Infinity Stones. But the TVA is, making it impossible for Loki to avoid the truth that the TVA is more powerful than him.
Instead, Odin chose to spend his last remaining days on earth, in Norway. He then dies peacefully with both his sons at his side. He later reappeared in a vision to Thor to help his son realize his true power and what he had to do to defeat Hela. After Odin's death; his son, Thor succeeded him as the king of Asgard.
At the end of Thor, Loki attempted to commit suicide, and ended up falling into a wormhole that transported him to the Sanctuary of Thanos. There, he met Thanos and the Other, who made a deal with him: they would provide Loki with everything he needed (including an alien army) in order to take over Earth.
